I have visited TB in off season - next year we are going to be there in January - how busy is it? Is every place typically booked?
How are hurricane repairs going? Is there anything I should bring with me from the US that residents might need?
Goddess seeing that you have been to TB before you should have an idea of what is mostly needed and after a hurricane whatever you take will be greatly appreciated especially for the children books, pens pencils and few pieces of clothing like white shirts for boys and girls in different sizes for school purposes. Some candies as a treat for after all what they have been through.Don't wait for the last minute to book, all the guest houses that had damages are being repaired and by January they should all be up and ready.Tb will be swinning again so if you just want
a place to lay back and relax without the hustle and bustle start you planning now.I know you will be getting more information from others so good luck and have a great time in January.
Thanks so much Island Girl for your imput. I did indeed already book at the new Mar Blue....I'm very excited!
Your in for a treat Goddess! Axel & Andrea are fantastic at hosting an awesome resort on the sea. Your taste buds are going to scream with delight from Axel's cooking flare. I stayed 3 weeks at Mar Blue last Febuary and enjoyed every second of it. Have a great time with Rhema, Axel, and Andrea!! I will see them on Feb 12/05!! P.S. Axel also makes an incredible pina colada!!
Comments on Mar Blue from new guests of ours there last week:
"We sure did have a great time!! The private Tiki hut bash Axel threw for us was a blast. The food was awesome, and we felt like we were at home there. Axel, Rhema -- I miss all of them already and I am definitely going back.
P.S. Taboo (Andrea's new Mar Blue dog) was such
a cutie pie!!"
When will the new Mar Blue be opened? It seems as if this is a nice place to stay. The food must be awesome I have heard so much about it.I sure will be going there for supper when I go down early next year. More info please..
Nicola: With finishing touches now being completed, the new Mar Blue.Verandah is now accepting bookings and currently has at least one (1) of the 5 new suites still available for
Christmas/New Year's weeks with rates including a nightly 3-course dinner. Please contact us for additional information (tivertonhouse@yahoo.com)
and see both Mar Blue.Domicil, the original 3 room auberge, and preview the new Blue.Verandah on the 'Beach Villas by Tiverton House' listing in Where to Stay section in masthead tabs above.
Will there be pictures of the New Mar Blue when it is completed?
Hi Nicola! If you go to the Mar Blue icon in "where to stay" and click on Verandah you will see a very good picture of the new building along with miss Rhema. Axel & Andrea are excelent hosts to a very chic seaside resort. I had the pleasure of 3 weeks at Mar Blue and will never forget the awesome food, great smiles and genuine real people that are involved there. Have you ever had breakfast and watched dolphins junping out of the sea? I have, and its an awesome feeling to see those creatures in their natural enviorment, trust me!!.....cdn Mike
Yes, photos are soon scheduled to be taken of the new Guava, Banana, Papaya and Passion suites and the largest and, says Axel, "the most elegant suite --Pineapple" -- at Mar Blue.Verandah.
Greetings from Finland!
We will also be staying in TB in January, arriving on the 14th. We are going for "Rebel Salute" at Port Kaiser Sports Club in Alligator Pond on the 15th. We are 3 people, any recommendations on where to stay, and transport to and from Alligator Pond on the 15th??
All help would be much appreciated! I liked the Ital Rest from what it looked like on the website! I organized a charity concert in October here in Finland, to raise money for the Jamaica Red Cross and the hurricane relief effort, we managed to send 180 000JD to them, hope some of it reached your way! I am also looking for a good cause to make donations to in the future, since the charity event will be an annual one (no more hurricaned i hope!).
Best regards,
Riina
I would also like to add that I have recently founded the "FI-REGGAE" association, working to encourage and support reggae musicians and fans in Finland. The association wll be organizing trips to Jamaica for it's members once a year, and the purpose for my travel this January is also to find good places to stay for our group in the coming years. All offers are welcome and taken into consideration :-)
