For those of you who were around pre-Ivan, you might remember that I asked for help in figuring out a problem where some visitors weren't seeing our ads (not popup or banner ads...we don't use those. These are ads that the visitor requested to see but couldn't). That was about 2 days before Ivan hit and I am just now getting back to it.
Well, I finally figured it out (see below) and have what I think is a fix. But I need your help to test it.
All I need you to do is take a look at the three lines below. Please reply to this message and tell me if lines 2 and 3 LOOK exacty like the first line:
(Note that where the links go isn't important. I want to know if you see the same text or not on this page.)
1) testing testing testing
2) testing testing testing
3) testing testing testing
Let me know what happened by posting here, please.
THANKS in advance.

WHAT HAPPENED:
Norton's Ad Blocker seems to be the culprit. It takes a sledge hammer approach to blocking ads by comparing the text of web pages against a list of terms it thinks are bad and then blocking any words or links that contain the offending text.
In our case, the directory our ads are in is on Norton's bad list, so it wouldn't show the links to them.
you might not be aware that this is happening. Ad-Blocker gets installed by default when you install Norton Firewall, so you may not even be aware that you aren't getting everything on web pages that you should.
If you went to the link above and didn't see what you should have as explained by the instructions, then you are blocking ads.
Hi
all 3 lines look the same...
Dear TBNet,
The second and third lines are the same, but are different from the first one.
Amy J.
Test 1: takes me to this current thread
Test 2: opens up a new window with a 404 page not found error
Test 3: same as test 2
Thanks for the feedback everyone.
Amy J., can you copy and paste the three lines into a reply here and show me what you are seeing?
me too, just back. and error.
good luck
The second and third lines are the same "A Test Page"; the first one takes my right to the current thread.
Eric:
Line 1 nothing happens
Line 2 A test page
Line 3 A test page
I use McAfee and Zone Alarm
Sorry I wasn't clear above (I've changed it now).
What I'm looking for is just what the three lines LOOK like on this page, not where their links go.
OK. All 3 lines look the same to me.
Yep, they're all the same for me.
For me the text is identical but the ink color changes....line one is black and line two and three are blue.
