After two weeks, many of us in Treasure Beach have finally gotten phone service back. Many are still without due to downed lines from our houses/businesses to the street. Thanks to my location on a main road, I also have electricity and water most of the time. However, it still is sporatic. Many in the area still do not have electricity or water.

I want to thank all of you, once again, for your overwhelming support through the last few weeks. I have not had a chance to read everything over, but hope to get to it today.

Please know how much your donations are appreciated and we are working hard to assure a fair distribution of supplies. A needs assesment survey is being conducted within Treasure Beach to make sure of this. We have been holding a 'relief committe' meeting every day since the hurricane hit to discuss immediate and long term needs and the implementation of distribution of assistance. Special thanks must go to Jason Henzel, Dennis Abrahams, ToJo Hill, Norma Moxam, Maureen Powell, Darin James, Sandy Tatum, Sheila Hamilton, Cookie Kinkead, Celeste Anderson, Patty, Joe and Beth with Peace Corp.,Tanya Brown and all others who have participated in these meetings, and have worked so hard on the procurement and distribution of items and the needs assesments for each district. This team has been invaluable and without them, Treasure Beach would not be as far as we are in our recovery process.

Thanks to Breds, Treasure Beach Foundation for utilizing their previously made connections with various relief agencies and professionals to facilitate getting much needed assistance and advice so quickly.

Thanks also must go to Cory South for making himself and his resources available to us. Cory your donation of water came at a very critical time.

We would also like to thank Tranquillity Bay for their water donation and offering the help of some students to volunteer with getting our local schools and the Treasure Beach Women's Group back in some kind of shape.

Big thanks must go to Food for the Poor in affiliation with Breds, Treasure Beach Foundation for their fast action in getting food and fish pot wire down to us so quickly.

Of course, a big up must be made to our favorite webmaster, Eric, for pulling all this information together on this site and keeping everyone informed. He has also been responsible for keeping me sane on more than one occasion when I was not feeling to strong. You are the best Eric!!

My personal thanks to Mr. Roche and Dean for hooking me back up to light and phone!

Again, my sincerest thanks to all of you. We feel so fortunate here to have so many who care so very much offering such a fantastic support system. We often think of our neighbors in the Caribbean who have not been as fortunate as us and our thoughts and prayers go out to them at this time, especially the citizens in Haiti.

Jah bless and guide!
