Talked to our favorite tour operator in TB today...

Overall then news continues to be good.

Your donations are being put to good use! The TB Relief Team has purchased JA$100,000 worth of food which was distributed to the most needy yesterday. They are going to set up a distribution centre in each village to get supplies delivered on an as needed basis. How you can help

Food For the Poor has sent food shipments to St. Elizabeth, and one directly to Treasure Beach. More is expected from them on Monday.

Sunset Villa Resorts donated a truck load of water. Its been delivered to Viv Moxam's house in Sandy Bank who has opened her water tank and its reserves to all in the community. Big Up Corey and Big Up Ms. Moxam.

Its been reported that Black River has electricity, but not confirmed. This is very good news as it means that banks can do electronic transfers/ATMs, grocery stores can get refrigeration, etc.

JPSCo is continuing to erect the electric poles in the TB area. They are saying that power should be restored by next Wednesday. This would mean that power would have been out for a week and a half! Water will not return until the pumping station in Houndslow gets current. They could use water a whole lot more than electricity right now, so let's hope Houndslow gets power first.

The sea is as calm as a lake and crystal clear. Unfortunately, this means that there isn't much breeze which makes its 'hot as hades' down there with out fans, making sleeping not so easy.

Overall, Rebecca still sounds very positive and talks about all the good things that are going on down there with the residents helping each other. But things are tough, and the lack of water and electricity are taking its toll.

Keep up your prayers/good thoughts and if you can, give a little towards our growing Donation funds at http://treasurebeach.net/guide/ivan/ivanrelief.html

THANK YOU THANK YOU to all at TBNet for all you have done for so many.. in Jamaica and around the world.. during this time of trouble with IVAN. How heartening for us to experience all the news.. and to feel the relief at learning everyone is safe. Also thank you for the opportunity to participate in some small measure in the support and restoration of perhaps the most special place in ~at least~ the northern hemisphere.. Treasure Beach, JA. In our neighbor state of Washington they say "It's the water!" In TB, we would have to say "It's the people!"

Like everyone, we are thinking of you all and sending out positive vibrations to the TB posse. Special love to Miss Faye, Miss Avril and Madge (and our condolences), Geary Brooks, and Frankie and family at the Ital Rest. And the whole lovely community.

very relieved to hear that no reported loss of life in TB, although distressed to hear of the great damage wrought by Ivan. Our best wishes are sent out to Jean, Frankie and the Ital Rest families, and Rebecca, Sylvan, Dawn and all those who gave us such a memorable time last month at Calabash House.

What about Tranquility Bay. I haven't seen any news on the condition of the facility or the children. Are they without water and electricity too? Has anyone actually been out there to check out the buildings?

Hello Stuart, Joclyn, Dawn & Finey, & everyone of Treasure Beach,

We're sorry for not writing sooner - our hearts and thoughts are with you.

Please write back (somehow, someday) & let us know you are okay.

If there is anything we can do to help please ask.

Lots of Love,
