Treasure Beach Hotel

So now you can see the true situation on the ground down there. Things are bad but not hopeless. The residents are down but not out. They need our help for short term survival and longterm rebuilding.

What can you do?

Go to our Donation page and find out how to give your prayers, best wishes and --let's be honest-- most importantly your money to help them get back on their feet.

And pass the donation link to all you know to spread the word.

To quote Rebecca "...thanks to all of you out there who have been sending your thoughts and prayers our way.  We need and appreciate every one.  I will not lie, things are tuff here right now, so knowing all of you are out there pulling for us gives us the strength to keep on.  Thanks so much for all your fund raising.  I promise you we are diligently trying to find the most needy, giving to them first, and filtering on through"

Thanks so much for the pictures. Have gotten more and more news daily but just needed to see for myself in order to process it all. Am interested in news on how Sunset Resort just down from Calabash House faired. Was married there last year.

It is very important at this time that the sea grass is NOT removed from the beach unless absolutely necessary. This is what the sand will stick to and create the new beach. In Negril they rake up the seaweed and then there is nothing for the sand to adhere to. Hence, hardly any beach front in Negril.

Good advice from Todd re preserving Great Bay Beach. I'll bounce it to Nigel. Heidi Reidell. Best to all the TB family, pulling together as one. Live spare. Thanks for providing a way to be in touch, Eric and Rebecca.

I spoke with Alton Jenoure in Malvern Friday night, describing how between Eric Leversen in Tuscon Arizona Rebecca Wiermas in Calabash Bay, and me, in Edina Minnesota we are sharing news via email and the internet, of St. Elizabeth, home to us all.

Here’s word from the hilltop above treasure beach. Kinkead’s three shops at the three way crossroad are badly damaged, Joe found more security in his low older house than in his big new house. Eric reports Steve and Judy Harle lost their roof, Judy hurt her hand, and must have a broken heart with the destruction of the new library at Munro College. The Ropers are all right and were sighted at Gayle’s Supermarket Thursday evening by my neighbor Beryl Robinson, whom I caught on her cell at the checkout, while buying up kerosene and what ever candles she could secure for Malvern.

The Malvern Science Center and Bethlehem College badly damaged, especially the computer lab, Jeannie Williams reported from Florida that an old girl had donated a generator to Hampton where the Chapel and other wooden structures were damaged, and Heather, the new principal hopes to reopen for the upper forms as soon as possible.

Jeannie lost the roof of her Grandmother’s house in Fairmount and two neighbors homes were lost. Mr. Gordon at Hampton Square is all right, but the shop across the street was smashed.

Eric Leverson reports that the windmill at Munro escaped harm, and Alton reports that the 23 windmills on Spur Tree appear undamaged as well.

In Malvern, in the Scheme, Mrs. Rekord’s house lost its roof, Porter’s roof landed in Mr. William’s back pasture, Custos Hendrik’s brother’s house had damage to the roof.

Principal of Bethlehem All Age school Sylvan Farquahrson sustained great damage to his South Manchester home. Manchester in a bad way, but no details to relay.

Lindiver church looks sandblasted back to the yellow paint beneath the new blue. The zinc roofing laid atop Deepdene’s roof is gone, but the original shingles remain. “Bumpy Walk” lost most of its roofs, Teacher Blair’s roof being repaired. Mrs. Burke, Reverend Eddie Burke’s widow, lost most of her roof and at 93 was removed to a safer location, but the house needs protection to prevent further damage to that lovely home.

The Ivor Great house lost a few sheets of zinc, but Dr. Panton’s Cashew Park, Ostrich Park in Lacovia was devastated. The Santa Cruz Police station lost most of its roof.

Bamboo avenue mashed down, Lacovia was quite flooded as of Monday.

Novelette’s house in Stanmore lost its carport atop a car, Gloria Coles house had minor damage.

That is all I know. Glad to have had word of Blue Marlin and a link to Anke in Germany.

Thanks Eric and Rebecca, and raise a glass northward with thanks that “life spare.”

Thanks for the photos!
Looking at them makes one realize how truly blessed we are not to have lost any loved ones, not even any serious injury!!
