Rebecca was able to get online in Belmont, as explained in her note below. NOTE: She is not able to accept emails and cannot respond to any online requests. She says she'll be able to get online maybe once a week until land lines are back in TB. -TBNet
Well I am back everyone, however, temporarily. Thanks to RBTT Bank Black River for letting me charge my laptop and sit here typing up this email to send to Eric, who will download photos to all of you. I also need to thank Horizons Guest Cottages in Belmont, to where I am about to go, since they are the nearest place to have phone lines working and are allowing me to clog up their phone line to download all these photos.
I must big up my partner and friend Eric (TBNet). You have been a rock to me and to all of the residents of the greater Treasure Beach area in getting the info out to everyone abroad and in to us who didn't have any connection with the outside world for a few days. Eric has been working around the clock to keep all of us informed. My family is ready to adopt him, and words will never be able to be adequate in our giving thanks for you, Eric. How privileged I am to have a partner like you!
Second, thanks to all of you out there who have been sending your thoughts and prayers our way. We need and appreciate every one. I will not lie, things are tuff here right now, so knowing all of you are out there pulling for us gives us the strength to keep on. Thanks so much for all your fund raising. I promise you we are diligently trying to find the most needy, giving to them first, and filtering on through. We will give you more information on where your contributions are going as we define needs.
The good news is, the recovery process has begun. The paths at Jakes and the pool have been cleared already, as many other houses, yards, businesses, etc. have started the massive clean-up and are open for business already or hope to be soon. We may be down, but we are far from out and are coming back likkle by likke each day. There is an informal 'relief committee' which is meeting every morning and looking at the immediate and long term needs of the community. We are organized and working efficiently to see that the needs of many are attempting to be met. Even after living here for eleven years, I am so amazed at the community spirit and efforts being put forth by everyone. There is a predominate attitude of sharing and giving right now that is inspirational. I know Eric has informed you of the local businesses and individuals who have been working overtime to help out. We are so very grateful!
Lastly, I have to thank my family for their unbelievable support! Larry, Donna, Debbi, Rian, Lynn, Rog, Rachael, Nathan, and Mom and Dad. I was raised in a Christian household and that attitude, love and kindness has come shining through in one of the worst crisis I have ever had to experience! My Mom said they wish they could be down here to surround me, well after not having a shower in several days, I advised her not to.
Please keep us in your thoughts as the recovery has only just begun and sincere thanks to all of you for giving us your overwhelming support in our time of need.
Jah Guide!
I'm going to start with the GOOD pictures and then go from there
Skibo after being back on dry land
Residents sharing water
Fishermen getting boats out of harms way
The beach we used to know
Boats in Billys Bay
Blossoms without roof
Bluntas disctrict
Bluntas district
Cacona Cottage and half its remaining yard
So now you can see the true situation on the ground down there. Things are bad but not hopeless. The residents are down but not out. They need our help for short term survival and longterm rebuilding.
What can you do?

My thoughts are with you all! So sad to see all the damage , yet still smiling people in every photo.
Keep up the good spirit!

We've been keeping watch from 'downunder' and although its hard being so far away in that we can't help as much as we'd like to, we're sending support and good wishes from the other side of the world in Oz.
It looks like Cacona was just on the edge of a major catastrophe! I hope Mott, Karla and Esther are good gardeners!
All our best wishes,
Elaine, Rob, Jim and Tom

Hello to all of our dear friends of Treasure Beach...those of you that we know and those of you that we don't know yet. We are thinking of you from New York City and send you the great angels that helped us here 3 years ago. They are with you now. Don't worry just keep helping each other. If you get too down just reach out to someone that is further down than you. Love is like a flashlight in the dark. Stay strong and love each other. Also, there are 13 places here in NYC for people to donate non-perishable food to the places that were hurt badly by the hurricane & I know that people here are thinking about you and praying for you every single minute of the day. Hello to our good friends Ted, Rasta Desmond, Nelson the craftsman, Martin Clark, the ladies at Trans Love & the folks at Golden Sands. Your in our hearts and prayers. Myndy & Malcolm P.S. Ted please call us.
Myndy & Malcolm, I saw Ted today and gave him your message.
