Hey, I am close to having the ability to accept paypal donations through this web site!

But I need your help.

I need to test the ability to have people without paypal accounts send money. This will consists of you emailing me with a dollar amount you'd like to donate, then me sending you a 'bill' for aht amount, then you using your direct card to pay the bill.

(For those of you with paypal accounts, we've got a system for that too)

If you are interested, please email me with a US phone umber I can contact you at right now.

During testing we'll try the system out with just US$1.00. We'll start small to make sure everyting kris wid it.

Send emails to webmaster@treasurebeach.net

Thanks!

We're moving forward everyone, together!

Make sure Paypal doesn't charge you more than that dollar for the transaction!

Yes, I found that out. They charge 2-3% (+ 30 cents!) for credit card transactions, but direct paypal to paypal is free.

I've got the testing done and am now accepting donations via paypal account, credit card, or regular check. There
are several options here.

'Donate from England"

Hmmm, that's a real good question.

I know paypal talks about currency exchange. And there's a place where you can select your currency, so I'll bet you can.

But paypal will probably take a small cut for the exchange rate.

My advice it to test if with a small amount, like 1 pound. If it comes through, I'll email you back and tell you what happened.

Anyone else have knowledge of using Paypal with different currencies?

I have used PayPal from England to pay for goods from the Far East using US dollars. It works, but, as Eric suggests, there is an exchange rate charge.

Note that I had to set up a PayPal account for myself before the transaction could complete. I couldn't use my credit/debit card to pay directly into the vendor's PayPal account.

If anyone has any problems donating from the UK, please get in touch with me at judy@hanleypr.com as I may be able to help.

Barbara

If we cannot make donations via Pay Pal, I know we can definitely send them via Money Gram - Places like Thomas Cook, the Post Office offer this service.

You can donate with different currencies, and like you said Eric... They'll just take their juice money, and you'll get whats left... However, the Euro is worth more than the USD, so it may end up breaking even on our end.

:-)

Hi everybody again
You were all correct.Just sorted Paypal donation out.The amount is made in dollars and it tells you the amount in pounds. The exchange is $1.755 which isn't too bad.
Hope it helps and I'll spend more in October!!
Good luck with the relief fund...hope you get thousands.
