The breeze blowing and Great Pond sand flying.
That Great Pond dust is rich in nutrients, Crops flourish if they can feed from an accumulation of this dust. Bank it up and start a vegetable garden.
If there were not the runoff from excessive pesticide use, that might be true, and seeds would already be sprouting at the pond. However it IS poluted by chemicals, nothing is growing in the pond, and there are probably all kind of unhealthy spores, such as histplasmosis, in that dust. We need rain, and the restoration of that ecosystem, and responsible and sustainable farming and development.
The engineering definitely went wrong. When there is no rain water should be coming back from the Ocean.Treasure Beach is just frustrating in the drought.

Taking the sand from the pond, would have work, and using it to fertile the garden is a good idea.
You're kidding right?!
LoveTB, isn't it full of salt?
Archie, the main thing in fertilizer is salt ,which is natural mineral,A bag of fertilizer is made up of thing like lime stone ,Styrofoam and sand.salt is a natural mineral, when your soil runs down (locking mineral ) you can add it back to your soil, with salt from water bed (Great Pond) sea water and Epsom salt.I would not recommend the salt use in kitchen, being most of this salt is fortify with iodine.Add mineral salt when there is rain,so sweep up the sand from your house and put it two to three feet around the plants.
