My family just spent a wonderful week in Treasure Beach. We are spread out in the US and due to distance and work schedules we had not been together as a family in almost a year so Lyric was our home away from home for the week. It could not have been more perfect.

My husband & I have stayed at Lyric many times, but not since it had a little makeover. We were pleasantly surprised with the new additions, especially the exterior ones. The wooden chaise lounges are a great resting spot to get your tan on while looking out at the glistening sea. We loved the new outdoor living area; the cushioned couches are very comfortable and make a nice napping spot. Our favorite change is the sandy area off of the pool patio with Adirondack chairs and a hammock under the shade of the trees.... soooo peaceful!

The interior had new paint, new covers on the furniture, and pretty new bedding.... Nice touches to an already nice home. The book shelves are filled with an assortment of reading material as well as a variety of games. There is also WIFI and we had decent service both inside and outside.

Teriece stepped in to fill Polly's shoes for the week. although we missed Polly's smiling face and conversation Teriece did a fabulous job with the menu & cooking and we enjoyed getting to know her better. Helping her was Susan, who always arrived with a smile. Both Teriece and Susan are hard working & kind women and cook thee best meals! Lancel is no longer on staff, but he visited with us every morning and we just love chatting with him about Jamaica & Treasure Beach.

As always Treasure Tours provided A++++++ service!! Rebecca & Debbian made sure we had everything we needed before & during our stay. Our airport transfers went well and we rode in comfort both ways with Kevin. Can't take a trip to TB without doing the Black River/Pelican Bar boat trip, which is most fun when you take someone for their first time which was true this trip. When we got to Rudy's we were the only ones there and the rope swing got lots of use! Per request of "the kids" we did the Appleton Rum Tour, which personally I think you only need to experience once but since they had never been we took them. The highlight was not the time at the rum factory, but the drive back. After stopping roadside for a jerk chicken lunch, Kevin took us home via the Santa Cruz mountains. This was a part of Jamaica I had never seen; the drive/views were just stunning. Kevin introduced us to coconut jelly & coconut cake. We also stopped at Lover Leaps for some more spectacular views. Of my many trips to Treasure Beach/Jamaica I think this day rates up there as one of my most favorite.

We had a delicious breakfast cooked by Dawn at Smurfs Cafe and came home with many bags of her roasted coffee beans! We had dinner at Jack Sprats one night, love their conch chowder. Our favorite drinks, pina coladas and passion fruit margaritas at Jake's! We tried to recreate these on our own in the kitchen at Lyric... Didn't even come close!

Most of our time together was spent hanging poolside, swimming in the sea, walking the beach and around Treasure Beach.... It was a wonderful week and I am already day dreaming about another family trip back in 2016!!

Thank you so very much for your trip report and kind words Meredith. It is always so wonderful to see you, Todd, Parker and Duncan! And although we missed the potato cannon this year I do love the new tradition started of no lotion Friday!

But I do have to wonder if your week here seemed even better considering what you were greeted with when you got home!

snow

Ha! I wish I was having a No Lotion Friday Day today! Instead I have to figure out how I am going to get thru the chest deep (no lie) snow to the shed to have the roof shoveled off.. hard to tell but that is about 3 feet of snow up there!

It has been a crazy winter for sure... thank goodness for vacations!! And for pictures, that remind us of great vacations!
