Lignum vitae is well known to be a protected tree. This list names the trees that the government of Jamaica, in 1946, considered to be of economic importance.

Who knows brazilleto or yellow sanders? They grow in our area.

I've been looking for yacca seeds to propagate a now rare wood that was used by our craftspeople a while back. Seems there are two varieties.

I don't see pemperry on the list. When I first saw it, I thought it was a mutant lignum vitae.
