Looking for news of my sister Glenda and her husband Vincent Parchment of Great Bay District. We have no news of this area from the TV or Radio here in England. So any information would be very much appreciated. Thankyou.

someone said this on jamaicans.com about Ballards Valley: Just from my family in Ballard's Valley (between Junction and Top Hill) in St. Elizabeth.
Majority of houses have been damaged(roofs blown off and flooding) but from what my auntie said no deaths have been reported. Roads are blocked into town. She said they can not accept calls from outside but they are able to call out now (from cell phone if the battery is still working)
Reported that some people are short on food and water. If my auntie calls again I will update.
God bless,
islandgirl

Hello everyone,

We've been praying for everyone in Jamaica.
I believe it's prayer that caused that hurricane Ivan to "wobble" south and not make a direct hit..
Does anyone have any news from Mandeville ?

Thank you to everyone for posting you are safe in Treasure Beach! We did not sleep for praying.

Does anyone know the whereabouts of Claudette Crowe and her family? She worked at TransLove Cafe last time we spoke. We are very worried for them. Does anyone know the condition of the KH in Calabash Bay and the friends who attend there?

Big up, Treasure Beach! We are proud of your bravery and your resilience. We are so, so grateful for your safety.

The Ericksons in Oregon, USA

One more group of people to add to the list of "checking up on," I'd like to know if Tammy, Opal, and their children, Deshaun, Dwayne and Denisha made out. They live just down the road from Miss Mary & Vikings house. I know their house floods from rain alone, so they must be in big trouble right now.

Hello Eriksons. Claudette's son Mikhail is my cousin. We heard from her husband Manzie and she and the family are fine. To my knowledge the KH in Calabash Bay was no longer in use as a new one was constructed in Beacon. The new KH in Beacon sustained some roof damage. All the friends from the KH are okay.

Hi everyone,
I just got a call from my brother in Sandy Bank and he told me that the place is really mashed up. As for Natalie Sanderson, keith (skibbo) is still missing along with some other men who were still on the key. Moses Moxam and his son Preckea is also reported missing on the sea. No one knows whether or not they are still alive. Lets all hope for the best. Some of the house that lost there roofs are:
Laza Senior
Miss Blossom
Pansia from Sandy Bank
Miss Gwen Moxam
Rodalph Abraham
Novelette and Cordell Ebanks
Miss Lilly Senior
I heard that Jack Sprat operated by Janson Henzell from Jakes is completely destroyed. The sea went right through it. Lets keep on hoping for only good news and post them as soon as you recieve cause everyone is quiet concern.

Thanks for the constant coverage today. I've been glued to the computer, waiting for word that all are okay. It's such a relief to hear that no one was injured. What a helpless feeling to sit and fret and too far to help! Please, if anyone can check on the families in Love Lane, Ditha, Sanderson's, Tyndale's, Omar, Del, Strachan's - the whole of the lane! Just want to hear that all are ok. And as Kaara and Auntie Julie asked above - any word of Tia and Paolo? I worry since they are so close to the sea. What about Prof. at Sandy Hill? Sending my love and prayers to my Sanderson family as they wait for word on Skibbo. Wishing I was there to help and comfort. Thinking of you all every minute.

Thank you so much for keeping us up to date on our loved ones. I just received a short call from my mother, Celeste Anderson at Siwind. There was roof damage on the sea side of the house from the kitchen all the way to the living room. Alot of the trees are down. The donkeys and dogs all survived the storm. The concern is for water and food for our families in TB. With no current and no water from the pipe, things will be getting bad in the days to come. Every power line has been snapped in half. The good news is that everyone in Treasure Beach is heard to be alive and helping each other and that is what makes this town so special. Ms. Avril and Lucia and Ms. Imogene are all fine. Big up to brotha Zebedee for checking on my Mommie & Poppie for me. We will do all we can to help make things better.

Great news!

I'm listening now. PJ is on in a press conference as I type. Man he talks slow!

But I will remind everyone that the more people are connected, ther slower it will get and possibly crash again. So don't stay connected all the time just to be connected. Get off when you're not listening to it.

Any idea how to get some of our info to Power 106 for their listerners who don't know of or can't connect to TBNet? I sent an email to them yesterday that bounced back to me.

Munro...was hit hard as reported elsewhere. But I've heard that Old Boys have pledged anywhere from JA$2.5 - 5 million to rebuild. No word on whether this covers the greater community or just the school.

Greetings to Rebecca and all the wonderful TB people : its a huge relief to know that you have survived but it is agonising to think of what you have been through as well as the challenges which lie ahead. The good will which you have generated over the years in sharing so generously with us visitors will now however stand you in good stead.I have been glued to the computer since last Friday following events, and the efforts to report on everybody have been terrific - thank you, thank you !! I havent seen any reference to Robert Chang,Josette and Percy up at Sun Splash yet and am anxious to know they are also OK.With best wishes to you all from this Canadian fan - Carol S.in Winnipeg.

...we have been trying to reach ESTHER MEADE by telephone, but presume lines are still down, then found this website. You are doing something really special in easing people's minds at this difficult and worrying time, and we are very reassured to hear that so far as you know, there have been no deaths or serious injuries in TB. If you know, would be great to hear how Esther is, and if Rachel should see her, please let her know that her friends in UK are thinking of her.

I haven't been able to get through to Damian on the phone, but last night we finally made it through to another friend, Kemp. He told us that the roof on Damian's house is partly torn off but they're ok.

Veronica Tyndale, and the Rest of the Tyndale Family.

Nerica is safe in Florida with Maurice & Nadine (Son In Law and Daughter) Heard from Sparrow yesterday. Veronica, Michael, and everyone is safe. They did receive damage to part of their roof, but Sparrow and Brothers used rope to tie the roof down to minimize the damage during the Hurricane. Some of the beds and furniture did get water damaged however before they could secure the lifting roof. They are is good spirits and thankfully no one got hurt. Thanks for all the concern that poured in from Germany. Matthias, hope you see this info. Thanks to all that makes this website such a great medium of communication. God's Blessing

No idea on how long it will take them to get one.

I talked to Esther today. She's fine, all things considered. So are Frankie and Berris.

She did want to say that her little place at Cacona is now only 12 feet from the new ridge down the the beach. About 30 feet of the yard washed away.

I know alot of people are desperately trying to contact their love ones but please try to keep an open mind that everything is okay. I was so worried about my grandmother Miss Sis who live at Beacon but two days ago my brother called and said everyone are okay no major damage. The problem is that some phones lines are still down and that is what preventing you from hearing from them so keep the faith and think positive.

Have just realised I probably posted this in the wrong place yesterday so have added it to this.

We'd be really grateful for information about damage to the 'Cool Runnings' bar & shop [opposite Sand Dune Villas in Gt Bay] This was bought recently by Uvaney Palmer who was in Racecourse, Clarendon during Ivan. Racecourse was hit badly with heavy flooding, loss of homes [many people still living in shelters] and like most areas they are currently struggling for water and food. At the moment Uvaney is caught up in helping family, friends in Racecourse rebuild but is desperate for news about his property which he hopes to move into as soon as he can. He has asked us in England to post this so we can get the details to him so we'd be grateful for anything you can tell us.
Have to say a huge thanks to everyone on TB net for keeping us all up to date - greatly relieved that no major casulties after Ivan and that all of our friends in TB are OK - appreciate though that things must be really tough for you all. Our thoughts are with you - especially the Genus family over at Vikings and Ital Rest also to Judith, Bimbo and everyone else we know.
Does anyone know Kencheck - from Newmarket - regular visitor to Crossroads & Gt Bay - selling fruit and food - would love to hear if he's OK.
Thanks - Linda & Alison

Thanks
Linda Forsyth
