Dear Friends and Family,

As an initiative by the Child Literacy Organization for underprivileged families, we are collecting books for the library at both centers- Newell in St Elizabeth and Comfort Hall in Manchester—that chhildren can read level-appropriate books independently and with families, program staff, and volunteers.

Child Literacy Organization is one that works actively for the improvement of underprivileged children and families and organizes several events to collect funds or other educational items for these ones. To help us set up a brand new library for the children of Newell and Comfort Hall, we request you to please donate any books that you can afford—new and or used. We are primarily looking at books for children ages birth to 12 years. Story books, children's novels, activity books and other books of the like are welcome. The books will be used to establish a very much needed library at our sites. There are no libraries available in either community, and we have limited funds available for the program that is in desperate need of support.

Our small organization serves approximately 60 families, with a solid emphasis on family literacy, but families are unemployed/low-income and do not have the means (money or experience) to supplement what their children learn in school. We are concerned that if they are not encouraged to value learning and literacy now, their academic growth may be forever stunted.
RE details on how you can donate the books, you may send it/them to the address below. I am looking forward to your support to help us make this event a grand success.
Yours truly,

Glasceta Honeyghan, Director
