Thanks to Kory South of Sunset Resort for saving the life of a 13 year old girl on Sunday! She was playing in the sea at Calabash Bay and suddenly found herself in deep water. Several persons attempted to rescue her including a boat of fishermen coming in from sea. Robert James found her underwater and managed to bring her up just to have her slip away, but giving her needed breath for a moment. Kory South was able to locate her again and bring her in to shore.
We thank all who attempted to help her and those on shore who provided towels and moral support to the family during the ordeal.
Special thanks also to The Treasure Beach Response Unit's Armstrong Sutherland for knowing about the recovery position and helping her with her recovery.
The young girl was brought to Black River Hospital by the TBRU ambulance and we understand she is now okay.
Great work Kory and we are all so thankful that you were there!
Oh my goodness, what a scare! Kory is a hero
Good going South, your parents raised a fine son.
What with all your fishng stories, I'm glad this one didn't get away!

To Kory,
I always knew you had the potential to be a hero. Your Mom would be so proud!
She was one lucky little girl to have both you and Robert James in the area!
Respect,
Andi
Well done Kory.
Linda.
good job Kory will see you in feb
Congratulations, Kory, on your good work. And kudos to TBERU for their fine work. I had the privilege of meeting these fine men and women of the community when I taught an infant resuscitation class in June. They are a dedicated and skilled group of volunteers, and are to be commended.
Best wishes to the girl and her family after this very frightening experience.
