Well, I was thrilled to win a dinner for two at the Gee Whiz Restaurant the other night playing bingo at the TBWG. I've heard great things about this restaurant but just hadn't gotten there yet.

So my friends and I went there a few nights ago and it was absolutely delicious! You do not get a plate of food but a platter of food!!

There was so much we all took home enough to eat for another meal.

Delroy Brown, the owner and chef, made us feel very welcome. He told us he operated a restaurant in upstate New York for many years but has decided to come back home to Jamaica and try a likkle ting.

Well, I know I will be back over and over again and I wish Mr. Brown great success and I thank him for his support of the TBWG bingo night!

I'm sure we missed the information earlier, but where is the Gee Whiz? And where was Mr. Brown's place in upstate NY?

Gee Whiz is in the May Len Plaza just after the big pink building past the Kingfisher Plaza.

Not sure where the restaurant was in upstate NY but I will try to find out for you.

You can add add my voice to all the praise sung about G-Whiz restaurant. We just got back and not only am I stuffed with awesome fish and vegetarian food, but I had a wonderful conversation with the chef Delroy on the way out.

He brought out platters…not plates but platters…for each of us loaded with delicious lettuce and tomato salad, spiced tofu, pumpkin, squash, rice and peas, and a beautiful escoveitch fish. My bill was $1000 with generous tip…about $9 bucks US. Oh, and a big glass of soursop juice…maybe it was sweet sop, I always mix the two up.

The place is well lit, clean plates/silverware, etc and no loud music.

He is a rasta so he doesn't serve alcohol, but its BYOB and there's a bar 4 shops down in the same plaza.

Two big thumbs up!
