So I had been hearing about this great new restaurant located right on the beach in Great Bay. I had even sent lots of folks there saying how I heard it was really good. But I hadn't had a chance to try it out for myself until last night. And all I can say is YUM!!!
My parents and I got there about 5:30 which was just in time to see the sunset.
I had a delicious brown stew snapper with some of the best tasting bammy I've ever had.
My Mom had garlic lobster and Dad had garlic conch. I had to fight with them to be able to get a taste! Everyone's plates were empty going back to the kitchen.
Thanks to Birch and crew for a delightful evening and I highly recommend The Lobster Pot. In addition to seafood they offer chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers.
We've eaten there several times and really enjoy it! Great place, good food and very nice location. Thanks Birch!!!
It may be fine for us, but I don,t think that the people who are visiting from the developed countries are able to appreciate and deal with fish with bones and all.(correct me if I am wrong)
Whenever I have the opportunity to serve fish to friends from abroad I go boneless.
Irie Calabash Man
You stand corrected :>)
I am from New Orleans, and my father was an avid fisherman.
The only difference in the way my mother prepared fish, and the way J'cans prepare it, was she would remove the head. She would always place a stack of bread on the table, just in case one of us swallow a small fish bone.
ONE LOVE !!
Mike
I will definitely check out the Lobster Pot next week, went I am in TB.
ONE LOVE !!
Mike
Calabash Man, I used to fish commercially on the West Coast of Canada (I believe this to be a developed country) and can deal with the bones - no problem. Cheers
Knowing Treasure Beach for their thoughtfulness and kindest I am sure someone will remove the bones for you! OMG Rebecca that is one big fish you have there. No one needs to go to Little Ochi! lol
I'm from the US and I love the way fish is prepared in Jamaica!
that just torturing looking at that fish and cant have it
the way fish is prepared is fine, but chicken with bone shards in it is a regular thing in jamaica, not how we eat it at home
I am in Great Bay on a daily basis and I order lunch from Birch's most time. Not a biggie on seafood but I do enjoy my fried chicken, stew pork and curried goat which he prepares really well...
The price is also great as I can get a small(big for me) fried chicken lunch with rice and peas and salad for JA$250(US$2.50)
