Sorry I have no pictures for you from yesterday since I was on the road most of the day driving from Negril to Montego Bay to Treasure Beach and the camera was at home. However, I would like to say that what I saw on the drive was very busy streets packed with people walking out and cars driving out to celebrate the holidays.

Cosmo's Beach in Negril was just packed with Independence Day revelers and I don't think I have ever seen so many jerk pans lined up as I did right there. Mmmm, the smells were fabulous!

Then in Montego Bay, I got stuck in traffic as the cars and buses were waiting in line to enter Walter Fletcher Beach. The music was blasting and the go-karts were spinning around the track.

On my way home I passed Bluefields Beach. By that time it was raining, but that didn't seem to dampen anybody's good time. No cars were leaving and people were everywhere.

Scott's Cove was a hot spot, serving up lots of fried fish and bammy to the hungry folks who had been swimming and playing in the water all day.

Font Hill had cars lined up and down the main road.

And, of course, Treasure Beach is always a popular destination for any holiday. Hundreds of Jamaicans came from all over the country to enjoy their holiday with us.

The celebration culminated with the old hits show at Jack Sprat last night highlighting Ken Booth. I understand it was a great time with Mr. Booth stirring up the good sized audience around 2 this morning!

Indenpendence Day celebrated well. Happy Birthday Jamaica!
