Just saw this at http://blogdramedy.wordpress.com/2013/10/02/its-enough-to-make-you-cancel-your-r eservation/

"THESE ARE ACTUAL COMPLAINTS RECEIVED BY “THOMAS COOK VACATIONS FROM DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS”:"

Here's one that made me smile.

12. “It took us nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to England. It took the Americans only three hours to get home. This seems unfair.”

Our friend Kathy S. turned me on to the following quote several years ago and I love it!

If you reject the food, ignore the customs, fear the religion and avoid the people, you might better stay at home." -- James Michener

Here are a few more strangely true ridicu-liciousness on the the Travel Front:

• Staff at a well-known hotel thought it was odd that a woman never left her room, but they didn't interfere. Eventually the woman emerged and stormed to reception shouting that she was going to call the police - the irresponsible staff had locked her in her room and ruined her whole holiday!
In reality, she had simply mistaken the "Do not disturb" sign for a warning to stay in the room.

• An African safari is usually an amazing experience, but not for one honeymooning couple. The man complained that the lodge overlooked a watering hole where elephants could often be spotted. Sounds lovely, doesn't it?
Apparently not, after one of the elephants became aroused, the man was left feeling inadequate for the rest of his holiday, ruining his honeymoon.

Some years ago I went out to lunch with some colleagues. It was to an Indian restaurant. A member of the group was quite disappointed that 'fish and chips' did not feature on the menu.
