A Site, called Caribbean Travel, portrays an Ideal, sanitized image of Jamaica, throwing in its major tourist regions, with the South Coast highlighted by Lover's Leap (Southfield), YS Falls & the Black River eco-tours, Little Ochie (Alligator Pond) for food, but not even a hint that a place called Treasure Beach even exists.
Look at the map that that closes out the article, and you'd think that heading eastward, along the coast, between Sav and Kingston, no settlements are indicated, whether for "interests" or a place to lay your head. The Barrens?

Shouldn't those regional reps advising the Tourist Board, and interacting with these influential Travel sites be plugging away for a local TB presence...promoting our subtle charms?

The Tourist Board is still getting it's head around the concept of community tourism. The infrastructure has already been constructed for the most part and the communities only need a little fine tuning.

Still, if one wakes to a ceiling, travels in a metal box and stays the rest of the day in an air conditioned concrete cave, appreciation of functioning under the sky, dealing with the massive and getting to know the waters is dulled.

When did anyone see any of our servants from any of the orgs associated with our treasure appear? Sudden summonses to gather to hear their pronouncements does not count.

Better to get on with it, one never knows when they will awake.

How can a body that controls the tourism industry have community tourism people that live an office life making it challenging for them to be in synch with those that are developing the industry and who are on the ground, doing it. We do not even see the planners, but are only told their plans.

Those developers sometimes do not eat for days. Every $ goes into their one person or family plan.

Little clearer Wes?
