Assuming this will be held, I am guessing the dates to be May 23-25, 2014. Would that be correct?

Also, does anyone care to venture a guess as to whether or not Calabash will actually be held in 2014?

Can it continue to be successful being run like this ?
ONE LOVE !!

If you've given any thought how Kwame, Colin, Justine go about selecting the incredible fresh stable of poets/authors for the Calabash, the catalog from Peepal Tree Press might offer some clues...not only that, Peepal sends you a Poem of the Week, by Caribbean/UK-oriented writers, to whet appetites for readings on stage..to come.

Greetings community, my name is Titus Joseph. I live in Atlanta, originally from Trinidad, and frequent visitor to Jamaica. I was at the festival 2 years ago.

I am the author of this new book entitled, "Our Curious World of Mirror Images: Reflections on how Symmetry Frames our Universe, Empowers the Creative Process and Provides Context to Shape our Lives."

I am hoping for an interview to introduce this unique and wonderful new book to our community. The central concept of “Our Curious World of Mirror Images” is called positional symmetry (requisite mirror image). The book begins by introducing readers to the beauty and universality of symmetry, and the paradox of duality. Joseph outlines holistic philosophies, past ideas about space and time, new concepts from Einstein’s theory of relativity, and recent discoveries from the science of cosmology.

After providing a broad overview of the universe and a brief background in quantum theory, “Our Curious World of Mirror Images” explains the new concept using illustrations and examples from everyday life. The new paradigm serves as a lens to conceive how things come into being and illustrates a new model of the universe, all in an accessible manner for anyone to read. The end result reconciles many polarized views and brings considerable amounts of added meaning to life.

I hope to make arrangements for you to receive free copies of this book along with the press release, hope to attend the Calabash Festival this year as an author. My phone number is 678-508-3983, email: iamtjoseph@gmail.com.

I would think that Titus Joseph would prefer to spread the word on Symmetry/Mirror Images/Universe by selling his book, and drumming up interest in enlightened audiences, such as under the Big Tent at the Calabash Fest.

However, if you want to graze a little into his thinking & philosophical explorations, Amazon is giving an Inside-Look of his book prior to purchasing:

About The Author:
Titus Joseph...I was born by the sea; my father was a fisherman. I was born to be a philosopher yet I did not know that until my early adult life after I first studied the sciences, then to become a doctor of medicine. I loved biology because I excelled in it but I turned to philosophy in my mid-twenties because of a greater need to understand something more fundamental about our lives.
I am very grateful for my formal education, I have a Bachelor's degree in philosophy with a minor in religious studies, and a Master's degree in counseling. My counseling degree has helped me to stay gainfully employed but you know it is the love of wisdom that motivates me and I think you will find out why as you read this remarkable book.

Why oh why?? would Calabash be staged the same weekend as the Liguanea Art Festival? (Kingston -in its 11th year)- I realize one is Visual Art and the other written/spoken art but some of us do follow/participate/produce both. This is an impossible choice if you are a practicing artist who loves poetry/Calabash or a poet who paints. Two of the best artistic calendar events in Jamaica-at the same time? Surely this is not the optimum situation for either event or talent. THIS REALLY SUCKS.
