Would this be doable? How long would it take? How long by car?
TY
We have made the trip on a 125 cc scooter many times. It will take anywhere from a couple of hours up. Be very careful and stay far left constantly checking what's behind you. We have been riding a scooter in Jamaica for thirty years so I hope you have good experience on scooters. I also think you could take route taxis to Little Ochie, except on Sundays.
A couple hours one way??
We have driven a scooter to Southfield which I think is a little under half way to Alligator Pond (Little Ochie) and it took about a half hour.
What route did you take that took 2 plus hours?
Did you turn at Junction and pass the Mayfield school to Bull Savanah and onto AP that way?
I ask because we will be in TB in a few weeks and were considering this as well.
Thanks
Wes
We probably ride slower and take more breaks. The route is hang right at Junction and then on to Bull Savanah and Alligator Pond. Southfield is about half way to Junction from Cross Roads and Junction is more than half way to Alligator Pond. It is a great ride on a scooter and if you made it to Southfield you can certainly make it to Alligator Pond (Sunday is safest day because no route taxis and fewer trucks). Another really good ride is up to Malvern using the switchback road (low grade) on the map near Mountainside and return going on to Southfield.
We ride slow and cautiously.
After Southfield you do go to Junction and then on to Alligator Pond (via Bull Savanah). I might be wrong on the time because we stop at Southfield and Junction. It is a nice scooter trip regardless of the time.
Sounds great!! Thank you for some good ideas/routes!
