...from the fire that someone is burning in Great Bay. It covers a large area and is of uncertain composition.
Is this not illegal and are there not garbage facilities available?
All asthmatics are currently at risk.
If plastics are burning, we are being poisoned.
And Jamaica just pasted a ban on smoking cigarettes in public :>)

On another subject I just asked the question "who is in charge" and I will ask the same for this ...who do we complain to so the community can breath freely.
We can only complain to ourselves. As a community we need to educate the children in school, as well as the adults, on the value of protecting our environment and our health.
I don't know why my posts keep getting deleted. I'll try again...
Check with the health inspector at Southfield. You need to keep following up until you get through with the health inspector. This is an issue of education. See article below.

Jamaica is no different than any other country in the world. Jamaica, America, Canada or France or wherever in all instances there are issues........and it is only in the last decade that many countries have begun to recycle in earnest. And do the masses always recycle everything or in ignorance or to save themselves the bother, or money, just trash or dump some things or fly tip it and let it be someone else's challenge?
Complaining will not help the community breathe freely. Complaining falls on political ears who may or may not hear. Political ears are restrained by financial obligations in a third world country, anywhere.
Educating the community will help. Investigating recycling programs will help. Organising a local task force a great idea. Discovering how to transport the recycling material to the recycle plants in Kingston and who is going to pay the transport costs the work of an inspirational people. Explaining how recycling may turn a profit, life changing. So who's in charge?
Who's in charge? Change takes time. One step at a time! One person at a time. Make a difference, share what you know productively today one person at a time.
