Has any one stayed at Wakiki or Sandy Hill Cottage ? I'd love to hear what people think of these 2 places as I am considering them for a winter vacation. I need places that will give a good rate for 2 - 4 weeks.

I've stayed at Wakiki twice, really basic and I found that there are other places as reasonable and a little nicer, Check out Burn's Parchment's house off the beach at Calabash Bay. Email me for his phone number if you want. It's nicely located, clean and roomy. It also has the added benefit of comfortable furniture to hang out on. Fans in every room, laundry line and a great view of the Fisherman working.

Thanks Andi. I like a place with a kitchen so I can cook (stretch the $$) and I tend to have a lot of visitors, so I like a veranda to hang on.
I usually travel with a friend, but will likely come alone this time so I need something pretty cheap. But will still have nuff visitors.

From what I can see, it looks like Mountainveiw offers the best monthly rates during the winter. I'll have to check it out next time I'm in TB.

Curious, the house I mentioned has a kitchen, 4 bedrooms, comfortable living room (with a TV), dining room, 2 1/2 baths and a verandah and is a little cheaper than Waikiki. Email me and I'll give you Burn's number.

Try also DREAM-A-WAY in Fort Charles

Re Dream-A-Way. Is is it a villa owned by a nice Canadian couple on the beach, with another newly constructed building ? If it is, it's lovely.

I'm looking for a budget room at a bargain $. (It's the only way I can stay 2 - 4 weeks).

If I had my way I'd stay in Great Bay. But my budget dictates finding a deal where ever I can.

Andi,

Thanks. I'll check the house you mentioned out (and tell Mr.Parchment hello).

Curious: The same/talk to Aman Parchment
(aman@cwjamaica.com) for details on Dream-A-Way . Solo rooms may indeed be available during peak -- and in your budget range.

Lisen curious, I love Jean and Vicas and over the years some of my greatest evenings in TB have been spent at Fisherman's but the sound system blares until late at night and unless you are a night owl or hard of hearing, I wouldn't reccommend staying there.

Plenty of people actually love staying at Fisherman's because the location is great, they serve really good food (I think the price includes breakfast) and do everything they can to make their guests comfortable. Not a bad choice at all if your budget is limited.
