Shane Parchment, the nine year old son of Aman and Laura Parchment from Billy's Bay District was rushed to the Mandeville Hospital on Monday where it was discovered that he had a burst appendix. He underwent 3 hours of surgery and is now receiving antibiotics. He is said to be in stable condition as of tonight. The family is asking for your prayers for Shane's recovery.

If you would like to leave a message for Shane here, I will make sure he receives it.

Best of luck, Shane. I had my appendix out when I was 12, so I know how scary it is.

What I hated the most about it was that it hurt to laugh. All my brothers and sister didn't know that when they came to visit me and told me a bunch of jokes. Ouch.

Don't worry, everything will be fine from here. You've just got to be a Big Boy for a few weeks while you heal back good as new.

Hey Shane!!!! Hang in there! I'm sure you're in a lot of pain right now, but that will soon pass! You'll be back to your old self in a few weeks.

Know that we're thinking of you and sending you love and strength to get better.

Shane,

I think all of the excitement of Jordan and Alisa coming to visit you made your appendix rupture. You will be fine. We only wish the "Dr. Ron" was there to follow up. Let us know as soon as possible how everything is. Also, Dr. Ron had his appendix taken out when he was your age. He actually told his parents that his stomach hurt and they thought he was kidding to get out of school. In school they had to take him to the hospital. Hello to your family. King Jack says "hello and I miss shane". love love love

I have just heard from Aman and he was very happy to report that Shane is continuing to gain strength each day. He was able to walk a little yesterday and was able to drink some tea and broth.

He is appreciating and enjoying everyone's messages, so please keep them coming!

I am happy to report that Shane is home and getting stronger every day. He was released from the hospital on Friday and although still needs some time to fully recover, he continues to improve.

Nothing like good St. Elizabeth fish, fruits, and vegetables for making a body strong agan, Shane, and I know your parents are providing plenty of that for you.

We are all happy to hear you are feeling better!
