Thank you, thank you to all who contributed and worked on repairing the worse of the potholes on the Billy's Bay road!!
I thank you . . . my car thanks you!!
Thank you to Denville James for organizing this fantastic effort. Thank you to the Saint Elizabeth Parish Council for donating 29 bags of cement. Thanks to Merv Parchment for contributing 10 bags of cement. Thanks to all the Billy's Bay residents and accommodations owners for contributing money and time to help make these very necessary repairs.
The roads are by no means perfect, but they are better than we've seen (and felt) them in a long time.
THIS is how a community works together.
Fantastic. We took a group scooter ride out to Fort Charles when we were there, intending to ride on out to Parrotee, and turned back at The Cove because the going was just too slow.
The road to Great Bay, on the other hand, was surprisingly good.
Always good people {edited by TBNet} to do this kind of work Bro Vil, Len,Ashley the other guy I don't remember the name but good job
Here are a few more photos.
Tax dollars not hard at work, just great great people that care about their community and its citizens and guests. Great job to all involved. 1Love
we also created miracle with 40 bags of cement and 2 loads of crush stones on the Bluntas road
I drove this road yesterday for the first time in over a week and noticed this straight away! Thanks to Bowl and crew for improving on the roads so much!
what about the Fort Charles Road ?
I am really happy to hear what is happening in my absence but I will be home soon anyway. Good job guys, refreshments on me when I see you all.
The Fort Charles Road is a horrible mess, and my feeling is if the residents wait for the Government to repair it, it'll be almost 100% washed out.
What I advise is for the Fort Charles community to come together, both residents and accommodations owners--just as was done in Billy's Bay. Get cement and marl and a lot of volunteers to do the work; buy drinks and refreshments for the people doing the physical labor.
Let's see if Fort Charles has the same wonderful community spirit as Billy's Bay.
Imagine with all the taxes that has been collected of late and to see the community has to be doing this on their own.

To my understanding the Fort Charles road is gazetted (government) as a private road, therefore it is for the citizens, the property owners, and the NGOs to do what needs to be done. This is going to be a tough one but it can be done.
I would suggest we organize a fund raising event for the coming public holiday on the beach. I am ready to contribute in whatever way I can.
If it was a private road, there wouldn't be any of those heavy loaded sand trucks driving it up and down
nice work guys.
I suggest the area restaurants have a "cement fund" canister where tourists can add some $ to an ongoing practice of doing road repairs. It's too bad that much of Jamaica's tax money must go to the IMF for debt repayment. Maybe keeping repairs local will prove to be money well spent. This is something that would benefit all.
