I have been hearing rumors about plans for a big All Inclusive resort to be built in Fort Charles.
Any truth to it ?
(I hope not !!!)

I have been hearing rumors like this about twice a year for the last 5 years. I guess we will find out if someday the rumor becomes reality.

I have heard that the Spanish are looking at various areas down there, and it is a very scary thought.

Places mentioned: Fort Charles, Gut River, Great Bay.

I am picturing a huge RIU and getting very depressed just thinking about it.

I will ask J. Schoenebin to look into this and find out from the JHTA to see what they have heard.

Thereīs one project coming up in Fort Charles now, they have already bushed the land and are now levelling it. But itīs going to be a small project with 2-3 tiny and simple cottages , as natural as possible, private owner.

God PLEASE not Great Bay of all places.

For all of you commenting on the last statement made by rootsgyal, my interpretation of this comment was that she did not want to see the dynamics of beautiful Great Bay change with an All Inclusive coming there. She enjoys Great Bay exactly as it is today, with the peacefulness of the area being the best part.

Rootsgyal, please let me know if I am interpretting this correctly.

I know exactly what rootsgyal means Rebecca.
We both love Great Bay just the way it is. I believe a big resort would spoil what we all love most about Treasure Beach.

Great Bay being a dead end, has much less traffic passing through. It's peaceful and quiet and more neighborhood feeling than a vacation spot.

I'd like to see more commerce in the area for the sake of residents in need of work, but PLEASE let it be on a much smaller scale than an RIU or Sandals!!
