I hear the ATM is Crossroads is gone?

If so, is there anyplace in TB that will cash traveler's checks? Not take them as payment, but actually cash them?

Yes .The gas staion at Crossroads. The best rate , when I was there,is the restaurant upstairs. Many places in Frenchman`s will cash them. Owen at Frenchmans and Linda`s likkle store beside Golden sands. Their rates reflect the convenience. There also many cambios around in any town IE Southfield, Junction, Black River etc. Or, of course, any bank.

don't forget your passport when cashing travellers cheques

fyi I have not used travellers cheques in years - it has worked better for me to just use ATM in back river or where ever I happen to be on the island

In the past I have changed them at Jakes.
Last month I changed cash at Jakes, so I quest they still will change a travellers check, since they are like cash.

We have cashed TC's at Jakes and M&D Grocery (the place that cooks chicken out front on the weekends, near Calabash). We also had our guesthouse owner cash them for us on our first trip.

Is the atm at crossroads going to be replaced?

At this point it doesn't look like it. But you never know what the future holds.

There is a chance that Scotia will open a new ATM in Frenchmans. I have had numerous discussions with them and this week they came to look at possible locations. Scotia Bank has been a big supporter of Treasure Beach and of the Sports Park so here's hoping they will invest in an ATM machine, and one that will use overseas cards as well. Fingers crossed.

Where is the one I saw at the Fingfisher Plaza over the Christmas? I'm pretty sure I saw an ATM sign on the door and people going in to use it.

that ATM is only usefully if you have a Jamaican bank acct No acces to foreign banks accts frm that ATM

twisted sista, thank you very much, I didnt know it was for Jamaican accounts only. It's in a tourist area, it's logical to me that we should be asking for it to be upgraded to accept foreign cards, visa, master card,etc.

Sorry to say it is not looking hopeful. But we'll keep trying.
