On behalf of the directors of Breds, I am sad to report that on Jan
21st while our ambulance was transporting a patient from Black River
Hospital to Mandeville Hospital, it met into a terrible accident in
Santa Cruz. This resulted in all persons on board receiving some level
of injury, and the vehicle most likely being a write off. All persons
on board went to the Black River Hospital to be treated and were
released, except for the patient, who passed away 3 days later due to
renal failure - NOT as a result of the accident. The Ambulance has
fully comprehensive insurance and is being inspected by the insurance
company. We want to thank the many persons who have contacted us with
supporting and loving messages. We want to especially thank Nekeisha
and Squab, our ambulance team and Nurse Berlin who was among the first
to arrive and assisted. We also want to thank Fern Luke who offered
councelling free of charge. We are hoping to have a new ambulance
within a few months, and look forward to as many persons and
organizations doing fund raising to fund having full time staff 24/7.
Thanks again for your concern and ongoing support. Jason Henzell /
Chairman

So sorry to hear, wishing everyone a speedy recovery. As a former first responder I know the ambulance play a big part in our community, and how important it is to be up and running. I hope we can all come together to have a new one asap.

We are waiting to hear from a few places before we know what the cost will be to ship another ambulance over here. As soon as we know we will post the information along with information on how to contribute to help get an ambulance back in Treasure Beach.
