A proud moment for Treasure Beach and a tribute to two very hardworking people who truly care about each and every detail. We have stayed there and were blown away by how wonderful everything was. Hope to return.
Am considering staying at MarBlue. Could someone who's stayed there say something about the accommodations. Better yet, if you have stayed at both Jakes and MarBlue, I would like to know what you liked best about each place.
MarBlue - less bugs, rooms and food more gracious, very classy yet casual atmosphere
Jakes - Livelier crowd, livelier bar, fantastic colours
We had breakfast included when staying at Marblue. I do not know if they still do this as it was three years ago.
JAKES vs MARBLUE...Could someone, in the know, describe the BEACHES at both Re-sorts?...It seems as though Jakes has created a little postage-stamp, man-made beach strip from which you ladder into a "deeper" sea. Near most of their cottages, there's a wonderful swimming beach at Jack Sprat, not directly off your veranda, but not that far away. Over by Jake's border with Sunset Villas, a climb over some rough reef rock gets you to Calabash beach.
MarBlue's "fronting beach" seems to be reef rock, and you either have to scamper over to Calabash beach to the Right or slip a little distance to the Old Wharf swimming hole to the Left for a relatively pleasant beach-swim experience.
Is this correct information or not?
BeacherMon, you are essentially correct. The beach near Jack Sprat is to the west of all the cottages. It is also not very private because of the crowd at Jack Sprat though no beaches in the area are officially private.
Mar Blue has lovely sand beaches to both sides, just a little distance, easy walk, not on big rocks in water or anything.
