The opinion of us watching it here was we were very proud that Volkswagon picked a Jamaican accent. It made us laugh out loud, we loved it and thought it was great.

The one thing that would have made the commercial extremely funny was to use a Jamaican to play the part. I know for a fact that Jamaica is loaded with 'funny'.

The producers of the ad got the exact reaction they were looking for....radio and & TV hosts talking about it. I think the ad was pretty cool.

I'm going to go down to Cory's Sunset for Superbowl just to watch for that advertisement.

I saw nothing offensive about the ad.
I do think it would have worked better with a real Jamaican playing the part.
What if was a Russian, French, Japanese, etc. accent ? Would it be considered offensive then ?
I also believe that they will not run the ad because of the controversy.

Loved it and I immediately thought that most Jamaicans (at least the ones I know) would as well and be happy they used a Jamaican accent.

Mikey Mike is right. If it were a Canadian accent this would not be an issue. Many Jamaicans are white. I found this ad very funny, as did most Jamaicans. If they find it funny everyone else should stand down. Even the minister of Tourism thought it was a compliment. I particularly liked the Minnesota connection! Lighten up to those who find this offensive, unless you are Jamaican. Then you have a right to find it offensive.
