..while not practicing ecological wisdom?"

The question was asked here recently.

Until all involved seek the answers then put ecological wisdom into gear, all we can do is pretend not to be breathing and consuming poisons from spraying and burning, depleting our fish and bird population, attacking the plants, diminishing the vigour of our soils and following the high carbon consumption path to stressful and ugly. Play lot's of reggae, feed with rum and no one will notice.

It's not the money, it's the overstanding.

It's hard to get "all involved" in anything. To the extent a community supports ecologically sound practices, those who tour there will be exposed and will, accordingly, participate. Neither reggae nor rum is anti-eco, and eco can be painful and anti-rest and relaxation.

The strength of Treasure Beach is its commitment to "community tourism," with diversity and respect for itself, its people and its environment.

Carry on Turey! I take your comments as pro-environment, and I'm glad to agree, but as Costa Rica can tell you, eco tourism is subject to its own economic elitism and concentration of wealth in grand eco-resorts.

Reggae would be eco friendly if the sound was amplified via solar derived electrons Van. Gi wi likkl time yaa! Molasses converted to dried food yeast and alcohol burned in engines and not brains, may score more eco points than rum.

Let's see how eco tourism evolves here. I believe all can be involved regardless of wealth. Not burning plastic costs a trip to the gate with a bag to be collected weekly.

Straight up and pass the whites.

I have been going to Jamaica for many years and find that not many Jamaicans are interested in eco-tourism. They just want to make a dollar to survive. However, I have founded that the residents of TB are much more enviromentally concious then the rest of the island.
