Being that we all should be thinking of ways to improve the world, how about developing a walking tour of Treasure Beach. It would "start" at the path to the beach just east of the Treasure Beach Hotel, follow the beach, past Eggy's, around the Buttonwood tree, exit at jack Sprat, follow the road and rejoin the beach at Calabash Bay and end about Taino Cove and then return by the Road. There could be separate continuations to Great Bay and Billy's Bay depending on the traveler's stamina.

Several "garden spots" would need to be developed and maintained, the path between Eggy's and Jack Sprat would need to be shored up. Maybe we could have a hurricane proof boardwalk. It would require maps being printed and distributed on a regular basis, the beach and the roadways would have to be kept clean, safe and, in some places, better lighting would be needed.

Happy New Year!!!!

Good idea and worthy of support from visitors as well as residents. I like the idea of a safe (for us geezers) way around the buttonwood point.

I think this is a great idea! Something like this would really be great for people new to the area and would encourage them to get out and see the sights and local businesses. I'm imagining a printed hand drawn map with places of interest and done in a cartoon-like style. Interesting facts and history could be added around the border. I know there are some great artists in Treasure Beach that could come up with something!

I'm sure something like this would be a big hit with visitors. One more reason to come and stay in Treasure Beach. Good idea, Roger!

Has anyone ever come upon a map of Treasure Beach? I've seen Google maps but not a printable version. I'm often used as a resource to someone visiting Treasure Beach for the first time and I'd love to show them the location of restaurants, the Bakery (I know, I know, Smurfs, but I will always call it the bakery), the shopping plazas, the different lodging choices, the ice house, the roads in and out of town, etc.

The map is a great idea! I am going to try to draw one while I'm there this year for future reference. I'm not artistic at all, but at least put X on a rough outline for different places.
I actually bought The Rough Guide to Jamaica (ebook style) for the map of Treasure Beach. There are a lot of places missing from it, but it's a start. If I can figure out how to print it, I could maybe just fill in some blanks.

If someone can come up with a map, rough or otherwise, I will see about getting it drawn up artistically and printed.
If anyone wants to discuss it further please email me directly at rbsturgis@aol.com.

Thanks

Rebecca...would you mind posting your Treasure Beach map in some downloadable fashion, so the likes of
R. Sturgis & other graphically gifted cartographers might be able to add their suggestions...like drawings/photos/insider jokes/historical perspective to some of the locations.

For Example...locating Miss Olive's home, both for Christmas holidays when her lights/decos are up, & off-season, merely to highlight it for visitors...
