What a great video highlights the fantastic work of the Nature Conservancy and our fishermen.

Well done on all aspects!

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome.

Awesome to know that the existing sanctuary around Black River is one year old and has helped fish stocks

Awesome to know that the Pedro Cays will be getting similar protection and the fisherfolk are behind it

Awesome video documenting it all!

Wonderful programme. I have been donating money to the Nature Conservancy without realising how much they were doing in Jamaica. Such a pleasant surprise.

Now I have two charities about which I feel especially good: The Nature Conservancy and Treasure Beach Foundation. Both provide exceedingly meaningful rewards to the recipients.

This is incredibly encouraging. Congrats to everyone involved. There are a couple questions that concern me though. First, is anything being done by the authorities to monitor the shipping lane just off our shores? I believe that there has been many years of illegal dumping of fuel and waste in our water that have not been reported or controlled. I am in full agreement that the fish population has declined, but what about the clean-up and restoration of some spawning areas?

My second concern is the scourge of divers. Their activities create a serious threat to local fishermen and their ability to make a decent living.

Wonderful video. I suggest, regular updates, blogs or other useful information continue to be shared here on the site. Valuable information and education for everyone to protect the lands, water and marine life will benefit us all. Possibly even a dedicated section on the Treasurebeach.net Community Bulletin Board.
I assume Eric (or the Administrator) would be the person(s)to make this happen?

Great. It's such a hopeful venture. I was glad to see so many of the people I've met and come to know participating in this truly worthwhile project.
