Let us discuss the Quran and the many wonderful quotes in our holy book. Is everyone ready? I am so excited to teach the word and gospel of the Prophet Mohammed here!

Dear Stan,
I do not KNOW YOU.With ALL RESPECT to what YOU BELIEVE. I would SUGGEST 2 U.BEFORE U COMMIT to TRADITIONAL beliefs, with a MIND SET.PLEASE! CALL UP ON Mohammed for ANSWERS to what YOU NEED and SEE IF HE WILL answer(s).
IF Mohammed ANSWERS,then SERVE HIM.Fair ENOUGH!
I WILL ASK YOU KINDLY,to CALL UPON LORD JESUS CHRIST and SEE IF HE WILL ANSWER(s).If HE ANSWERS YOU,then SERVE HIM. Fair ENOUGH!
The Scripture(s)of the HOLY BIBLE DECLARE(S)that IF YOU CALL TO JESUS CHRIST HE WILL ANSWER YOU,SHOW YOU GREAT and MIGHTY THINGS,YOU DO NOT KNOW.(JEREMIAH 33:3)
The SAME BOOK DECLARES,SEEK ME and YOU WILL FIND ME,WHEN YOU SEEK ME WITH ALL,ALL YOUR HEART.I CHALLENGE YOU 2 the >>>CALL and SEEK<<< --
WORDS of WISDOM and SEE what the RESULT(S)WILL BE.If YOU STAN IS READY & WILLING,GET READY FOR SHOW DOWN TIME.Waiting & Watching,4 ANSWER(S)from U. UNTIL THEN,EXPECT ANSWER(S)...
ONE SPIRIT TO YOU!!!

The Holy Quran teaches alot of the same things the Bible does. It even teaches about one of God's greatest prophets. His name was Jesus Christ. A Prophet! Thank you 'Back a yard' but no thanks. I am not any more interested to convert to Christianity that you are Islam!

There will come a time when
The hurricane will not seem
an act of a god
The volcano will not be
ascribed to an angry god

There will come a time when
the plane crash will not seem
an act of a jealous god
The epidemic will not be
attributed to a vengeful god

We seek supernatural explanations
as in days of yore
when cavemen trembled at
the sight of lightning and
the sound of thunder

We may now go to the Moon and
send misssions to Mars
Yet Earthlings refuse to let go
of the fear of the unknown
clinging to protection from beyond

And in those moments when
disagreement sets in
Logic tries knocking at the door
and finds there's no room
at the Inn

So it is then
that we reach to rightously
quote our BOOK or drop our bomb
to settle disagreements of
whose god is really God

I like this poem. Who wrote it?

Straight from Treasure Beach DavidJ, and I'm so frustrated by dogma, tradition, blind faith, illogic, obstinance, arrogance, selfrightousness, piousness and, yes, religion. This belief in THE RIGHT RELIGION, is akin to someone being born into a family which supports a particular political party. The newborn likely will grow up with the same political allegiance without ever questioning their own position.

I do understand how it is that most people will continue with what they were taught as children. From personal experience, it's not easy to disavow anything when, for all of your formative years, you were told that if you do so you will go to hell and burn in eternal damnation! Fear is always an effective tool to control thought and action.

We're getting a lot of "what about this interpretation" and "what about that interpretation" posts about this subject, and we're just not willing to host a back and forth argument about something so charged.

To those who think that Religion A is evil and have a website to prove it, there is someone to say Religion B is evil with a website to back up their point. There are plenty of other web sites that will allow you talk all day about it. Please take your discussion there.

Therefore we're not going to close this and the other religion threads.

You can say we're being a little inconsistent for allowing some posts like this in another thread and you may be right but what was a discussion has quickly deteriorated to accusations and worse and it's simply gotten to be too much.
