I just re-read the introduction to the "Lost To The Sea" Topic on this site with deep emotion and find myself feeling grateful. I am grateful because it's been some years, to my knowledge, since we've lost any fishermen to the Sea.

I am not sure of the reason. Perhaps modern equiptment such as better compasses, GPS, engines and boats are responsible. Or, to my preference, fishermen have wised up to the dangers and hsve adopted safer practices in their trade. Whatever is responsible for this, I give thanks.
