Two gold medals for jamaica , silver and bronze and I feel there is more to come!! Congratulations to our athletes. You have done jamaica and yourselves proud in this our 50th year of independence-well timed. I was nervous and shaking during the 100m finals, fearful that a false start would ruin all that hard work but in the end it all came together. I am exhausted from screaming and shouting!

Our athletes male and female, have done us proud; little jamaica on the world stage and taking on the challenge-Jamaica 1, 2 and 3!!! Tonight after the clean sweep it took up 5 minutes of the news on the BBC, such is the phenomenon. Asafa if you are reading this I wish you a speedy recovery; you too have done so much for Jamaican sprinting, the story is not complete without you.

And even in all their excitement, they still took the time to big up my home city of Birmingham for hosting them before the Olympics. Not only are all three great athletes, they are also great ambassadors for Jamaica!

Well, as I'm sure most of you have surmised I am not in Jamaica right now . . . and bwoy am I homesick missing Independence and Olympic celebrations.

I have been hearing of the wins through friends calling, texting or emailing me as I am not able to see it live.

So help me out folks. Tell me where you were when you saw the races and the reactions you and those around you had, especially if you are in JA. One friend told me last night, "I was in Junction and boy were people excited!
There were pot covers knocking, horns blowing and people just screaming! A very proud moment for us!"

I remember the last Olympics when any medal was won the entire Treasure Beach exploded with screams and cheers and it seemed everyone in Jamaica with a car had a flag flying from it. It was a wonderful and joyous celebration.

So please share your stories with us!

Also, I haven't had much time on the computer to search for this so if anyone has the video clips of the medal ceremonies please post them as I would love to hear our anthem playing as our athletes receive their just rewards.

Been watching everyday here at Sunset Resort & Villas, you can hear the excitement throughout the whole area, every time we win. Half way tree, completely blocked off with people, and all was very peaceful, the whole Island a romp mon ! Absolutely incredible performances from our Athletes, Jamaica for its size , certainly won overall, and the sportmanship was just outstanding, Big up Jamaica. Good time for Sports Tourism to get going in Treasure Beach and Jamaica.
