Wow! Button Bay?

I have never stayed there, but it looks like a lovely place. $25 would be a steal!

Check with Frankie at Ital Rest or Viking @ Vikings Rasta retreat re camping.

For a room you could check with Miss Judy at Hi o's in Great Bay,. Not sure if she'll rent that low but it is worth a try.

Buttonbayjamaica is well worth $25 per night. It is on the water and has a pool and the rooms are good. They are going through some minor renovations so now would be the time to get a good rate

citizen, what is the point of syaing that something will be for rent? Why not just say that when it happens?

this is good news as there are not so many budget accommodations in the area
budget being $30/night or less

Confer I think this is an appropriate time because persons are seeking houses that have reasonable prices and the minor repairs will be done before the month is out.It does not have to be someone who needs the house immediately but even next month.

Yes Citizen, it may be an appropriate time...if you gave any relevant information. You gave no specifics at all..No price, no amount of bedrooms, where in Frenchmans? Beach side? It is just a very broad brush comment, which does no one any good without any details.

Okay, but what is a reasonable rate to set up my own tent on someone's campsite? Is it unlikely to find a place that will accept my girlfriend and I for $10usd each person per night? I do not mean to offend but it does not hurt to ask. We would really like to make the trip happen but our financial situation is not so easy right now.

Thanks for all the help!

Check out Shakespeare Cottages under Where to Stay on this site. Right across the road from Frenchmans beach, easy access to restaurants etc. Tent camping with access to kitchen, bathrooms, and showers is a definite possibility.

If your money is so tight that $20US a night is all you can afford, then you are going to have a real difficult time visiting Jamaica. It is NOT a "backpacker" friendly place when it comes to COSTS !!!
Be prepared financially !!!!
ONE LOVE !!

I thought Golden Sands had some "new" rooms that were in that price range?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By been there done that on Wednesday, August 08, 2012 - 09:15 am: Edit Post

golden sands is not really what i would call budget, at $55 per night for the least expensive room
that is a far way off from the $25 per night that money tight is looking for

money tight, i would suggest that you contact stephanie at the tree house, i am confident that she will be able to meet your budget and you will fuljoy your stay in her yard

Shakespeare Cottage had some budget rooms with shared baths. I saw the rooms but never stayed in them. They looked clean and comfortable.

I have stayed at and enjoyed Shakespeare cottage but I had rented a likkle one room cottage with a private bath. I found the Lewis family and Doreen the house keeper to be very nice and helpful.

Shakesspeare cottage is worth checking into.
