People are talking about how "behind the times" St Bess and local politicians, business folks, schools and pride-full citizens have been about celebrating our Golden Jubilee...Is there a sense of ambiguity about the "pros & cons" of what is worth celebrating? Free speech, free press, sport and cultural/musical superpower, growing art, craft and drama, growing awareness of our natural treasures, awakening of transparency and an intact legal and voting system. Maybe St Bess has avoided many of the pitfalls of keeping up with the times. Let's see what we can do to utilise yet preserve resources over the next 50 years.
