On behalf of the G.T.B/C.A.B.S. we the members have come up with an idea to motivate and encourage the students of the Sandy Primary School to attend school on a regular basis.

We have pledged to give one student who has never miss a session including Friday and portrays Good discipline and is always punctual $10,000. This will be done twice per year at the end of the Christmas and Summer Term. Starting this Tuesday July 3.

We are also asking anyone who wishes to come on board and give a donation to make the next one even more attractive.

How about making the learning system more attractive? Then we would love attending school. Thanks for thinking of us anyway Mr Bowl.

'lovelearn' when you say 'making the learning system more attractive' what exactly do you mean.

I was hoping that some schoolers would give their opinions first, both old scholers and youths. My first request is that we rememebr that wholeness of body and mind is connected to diet, exercise and stress reduction. We generally are offered high glycemic index foods made from highly processed GMO foods stripped of many essentials at school. Our excersise is minimal in many schools and the athletes are focussed on. We need to raise our heartbeat for a few good minutes every day and break a sweat. Thankfully may of us walk a good way.

It is taken for granted that school should be a stressfull time. The scholarship stress test is shamefull. This leads to a stress accepting society.

Religeon is a pesonal thing. Stop throwing us to the progreammers of old time stories and more.

I urge students to say what they feel. I love to learn and I respect the effort of many of my teachers. I know where many dinosaurs are keeping ther system from changing are hiding. Look at an unstable building downtown.

I'll say no more.

It's extraordinary how easy it is to go off topic!

Great initiative, Bowl. It is worthy of support and I will be doing so.

To Bowl - What happens if two or more students follow the exact rules you have laid out? Who gets the money?

Yes please. Time we hear from those who are subjected to the current school system. They have no voice otherwise. We still are in the time of children should be seen but not heard and adults know all.

MikeyMike, this money is being used as an incentive to attend school, not as an incentive for learning.

So as long as a kid shows up for class every day but fails to learn the material, he get the money ?
Really ?
What happens to the kid that may miss a couple of days (for good reasons) but makes top grades ?
I really do not believe that money should be used as an incentive for children to learn.
ONE LOVE !!
Mike

MikeyMike you are correct about a child being unfairly penalized for missing school for an entirely legitimate reason. There is a death in the family, a student is seriously ill and has a contagious disease, etc. Money can be used as an incentive for learning but attending is not the same as learning.
