Hi Folks,

My wife and I visited an all inclusive hotel with nannies in Falmouth (FDR Pebbles) 3 years ago and had a good experience but we were left with a longing for something more real, not gated. After a lot of research I'm really excited about TB.

Where should we stay? I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old. It would be nice to have a kitchenette to prepare things for the kids. We're not car people. I'd prefer to not need a car. We just want to play a bit on the beach and explore locally.

I've been pushing Ital Rest because I really like the rustic. My wife is concerned about mosquitoes. She has been pushing Jake's because it looks pretty sweet. That's on my high end for budget. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Vikings Rasta Retreats is great. They are neighbors/family with Ital Rest. You will feel like part of the family.

Jakes is sweet but they have plenty of mosquitoes there. I'd go with Vikings Place as long as you're willing to do rustic. They're very nice people.

Hi John because of your low Budget you could go for Vikings Rasta Retreat its not all expensive and you could have a nice time. Its a very friendly area and the people as well.Your wife could bring plenty of mostiquito repellent and you could even visit Jakes for a meal as well.Hope you have a good holiday with lots of sunshine.

I say Vikings House. Your family would have a beach all to themselves. The kids would have a lot of local kids to play with and a lot to explore and see. Of course you will have to load up with plenty of repellent, whether it be Vikings or Jakes.

Bebe's Place would be just right for you.
Have a look

Rasta Retreat is nice, but a longer walk to the beach, and kind of out of the way from other things.
Bebe's Place is more centrally located and cloer to the beach, and within walking distane to most things.
ONE LOVE !!
Mike

Vikings and Ital Rest are really nice, but not in the heart of things. If you want to get to where most of the restaurants, etc are then you're in for a 20 min walk each way, though it would be a lovely, peaceful, safe, stroll. You could also rent bikes for the journey.

You might take a look at Calabash House. Its a cool guest house with a shared kitchen and is right on a safe swimming beach. And the flowers in the yard are amazing

Also, Fairhill Villas may suit what you're looking for in a kitchenette.

You'll have a great time no matter where you stay. Best of luck on your trip.

Calabash House might be absolutely perfect. On the beach. Near the center of everything. Easy walking distance to Jakes. Plus they serve excellent food.

Please take a look at Shakespeare's Cottage. The location is ideal because it is a 2minute walk to the beach, and you can have a nice safe yard for the little ones. There are options for different budgets, and you can have a kitchen if you wish. We have stayed there many times, and our son and his wife love it, and their 2 little ones consider it their Jamaican home. We highly recommend it!!!!

I'd go closer to Frenchman's area if I were in your shoes. Ital/Vikings you will just be by a beach not any where near the local spots to visit. Not an easy walk with little ones better if you had a car to go anywhere.

With a 2 and 4 year old bear in mind Ital Rest has no electricity so you are going really rustic!

Vikings is alot better for the partying types more than people with small children there is a great deal of drinking and smoking you can't avoid as a guest there.

Jakes has as many mosquitos as the two places above and not such a great spot for little ones unless you are right on top of them, there are a few spots they could fall not so relaxing if you can just let them run free a bit. For the money you could stay in even plusher accommodations. Still worth a visit to eat a meal and see the grounds (also must do Jack Spratt next door) wonderful beach for the little ones @ Jack Spratt.

Golden Sands is right on the beach and more central to everything. You would have TB at you fingertips and beach out front. Pretty cheap prices too. Great food next door at Frenchmans Reef also.

Bebes Place and Shakespeares (close to Golden Sands but not on beach side of road) seem like other choices that offer more of what you are looking for and are very affordable.

Try out the Inn at Great Bay. Main floor rooms have 2 double beds and a small kitchen, larger kitchen in main building. You are only a few yards from a supermarket and a beautiful beach. Call Alex at 876-879-6970

We are heading to Jake's next week (yes, so excited) and I will gladly post back after my visit to give you an idea about how bad the bug situation is.

Respect.
