This is Rebecca with Treasure Tours. I have no idea who the builder was as I was not involved in the construction of the house. I believe he came from Santa Cruz, but again I don't know. The architect was Gilles Reidberger, the owner of Kouros Villa.

There are several great builders here in Treasure Beach. If you are asking for a builder in Treasure Beach then we can provide you with names.

You are better off using a local builder. People in the area need work and are qualified. Support Treasure Beach people if you are building here. Makes things happier all around. There were some hard feelings in the community when those two houses were built.

if you are intrigued with the design of Kouros, even better advice is to get in touch with the architect/owner, Giles, and inquire how well or adverse the design-build process went; are their any hidden ("buried") problems coming into the light now that the reinforced concrete has settled and the mechanical/electrica/septic systems are expected to be relatively problem-free; what was the nature of construction supervision and quality of material purchases; and would he recommend the same builder with a job of similar complexity which may have required possible change orders along the way (incomplete construction drawings/plans & progressive wish lists/changes are sure cost additives); is it recommended that the Owner be close to the building site or at least have an independent, knowledgeable engineer-type to provide progress reports and sign-off on the completed stages of building for payment-draws to the contractors...etc...etc...

Then check around, locally, for that 'proven list" of builders who might be creative enough to involve the owners in achieving their goals, especially where options are concerned; or where the owner might be able to lower some costs by acting as a GC (purchasing agent) for some building components,i.e., windows/doors/bathroom fixtures...

Caveat emptor!...Dream Housers

A lot of local builders are lazy. They come late, waste time on the job, leave early and expect high wages. Everybody is looking value for money.Money is hard to come by these days.I like to use locals myself but we have to pick carefully. We still have a some honest hard working ones.

Very glad I've not had that experience with any of the local builders I've used. I have found all the local builders I've worked with to be professional and take pride in a job well done.

I would like to recommend Warnal Gordon a local builder. He and his team has built a number of houses in and around the Treasure Beach community. He is presently working on a house in the heart of Treasure Beach.
