Hi everyone, does anyone know which guest houses and/or hotels are happy for you to use their sunbeds and swimming pool if not staying at their premises. If so, how much do you/they charge.

Love the sea and beach but would just like to chill and sunbathe in comfort (somehow always get covered in sand) just for a couple of days of my holiday.

Thanks

Jakes is pretty open but I would suggest that you buy drinks or even a meal though while using the facilities. None of the villas will allow it.

UK Jean, I am curious why you are staying in a place without a pool if you want a pool. My guess is you want to pay less, but places with pools usually charge more because the cost of operating a pool is fairly high.

Hello,

Treasure Beach Hotel used to quite casual with respect to anyone lounging by the pool as long as they bought food et al. However when the mood takes they have been known to charge $25 per day some years ago. Not sure about it now.

Jakes does not have a beach per se. Jakes is a man made likkle likkle with some brought in sand........not my idea of a 'beach.' but is a good hide out for a day or so.

To UK Jean

Two Seasons Guest House (www.2seasonsguesthouse.com) now has a pool. Check out our very reasonable rates.

What dates will you be in Treasure Beach?

Warm regards

Christine

Thanks for your input, most appreciated. For your info, I have been coming to TB for the past 11 years, mostly twice a year, and mainly staying with my man but this time not. I would have stayed somewhere with a pool but with having to pay £850 this time for a flight they are out of my price range!!

To person who is curious, to be honest I am quite happy to stay somewhere cheap and cheerful and have done many times but just thought that as I would be there for 21 days, for a change fancied having a day or two chilling by a pool with a few cocktails.

I did know I could probably sit round at Jakes (usually spend one afternoon sat with Dougie sipping coconut rum and orange) but not too keen on their pool.

Also I have found at my age it is not so easy to get up from sitting on the beach! I have even got Gairy to take me round all the shops to find a sunlounger but to no avail! Nevermind will ask around when I get there.

Thanks Christine, you have a really beautiful place but already have somewhere to stay.

Soooo.... looking forward to seeing everyone.

Taino Cove has a very nice pool. Also Sunset Resort. Maybe you could pay to spend a few hours there.

I don't think your request is odd. We always travel on a budget and can't afford to spend the night at places with a pool. I have also wondered if we could pay to spend a day somewhere with a pool while in TB. It's nice to have a day relaxing poolside with cocktails.

People can buy day passes to All Inclusive resorts, so why not be able to pay to spend a day at one of the little "resorts" in TB? I think it's a great idea. It could bring in some extra cash for the places with pools when they might not be full. I know that I would pay $25-40 to sit by a pool all day and on top of that I'd be buying drinks and food and tipping the staff.
