If this is true, does anyone have any thoughts about it, pro or con? I think it is not such a bad idea, considering the bandulu business that some local contractors engage in. Maybe we can get the Chinese to finish the canal too!

Petrol is high enough. The mechanics are doing a fantastic business fixing vans day and night. How are the drivers to survive? What kind of message do awful roads send to our visitors?

I spent over 2000 USD last year fixing the front end, buying new tires, new shocks, bushing, wheel alignments, broken axel. If I have to pay a few dollars to drive on a good road built by the Chinese then bring it on.

I've seen how they fix the roads: roll a little marl and put a thin film of asphalt on top; then wait for the next rainy season and start all over again. Yeah, let them learn.
