Friday, February 17 was officially deemed Jamaica Day for all schools in Jamaica. The motto of the day was "Goals for Gold". Schools all across the island celebrated Jamaica Day but I don't think any school celebrated as well as The Sandy Bank School!
What a day of celebration, education and fun!
My congratulations to all who participated in making this such a successful day. I believe the whole community must have heard the students screams of delight at various parts of the day. Well, I'm sure they heard mine!
You can view photos of the day here or by the link in the Photo Gallery.
Glad to see the students had a good time, next time please have some more displays, remember it's Jamaica Day, have some parents do some dishes that some students might not have seen before. Good try anyway.
Oh my gosh, what an amazing looking day!!! It looks like some serious work went into all the displays, everyone should be so proud! Looks like so much fun was had by all and what a fantastic way to celebrate Jamaica!!!!
Thanks for sharing those pictures. I'm impressed by all the displays about National Heroes, old cooking tools, facts about the country (flag, etc), Tainos, etc.
Looks like a lot of work went into the day and judging by the children's faces a lot of fun was had.
Congratulations to all.
I think the day and the celebration looked absolutely fantastic. Kudos to the teachers, principal, and everyone else who assisted in putting together such a wonderful day. "Jamaica Day," if you live in Treasure Beach, you might volunteer to help next year.
What a wonderful day of celebration. Congratulations to all concerned. Wish I had been there. Janet Todd
