The Treasure Girls held a benefit car wash on Saturday to raise funds for the team.
And what a day we had! We were overwhelmed with the support the community gave us. We were kept very busy washing cars.
And some of our Treasure Girls worked the road asking passers-by for a donation.
I am very grateful no accident occured since our ladies were stopping traffic! Donations even included a jug of orange juice from the Tru Juice truck driver.
Although it was a lot of work, The Treasure Girls persisted frantically washing cars trying to beat the coming of nightfall. We were only going to work until 5, but the cars kept coming in.
Of course, special thanks are due:
First to Kinkead's Texaco Station at Crossroads, Mr. Kinkead donated the space, water, electricity, AmourAll, cloths, etc. with special thanks to Debra Butler, Manager, for having all of this set up and ready for us on Saturday morning and all the staff for helping us and putting up with us for the day.
Second, to Thaddeus and Lorna Stevens of Toddy's Restaurant and Bar located at the Crossroads Texaco Station for donating 15 box lunches for all the hungry scrubbers.
Third, thanks to Darrin James for allowing us to use his mega vacuum cleaner.
Fourth, thanks once again to our number one banner maker, Lisa Ginzel, for making the wonderful banner announcing the car wash.
Last, but certainly not least, thanks to all who came out to support The Treasure Girls. We washed some cars that looked awfully clean to me, but the owners just wanted to give us their support.
The day was an overwhelming success with us raising $15,000 and many requests to do it again. So watch TB.net for the date and time of our next car wash.
I am extreamely overwhelmed about all the upliftment in treasure beach and all the happenings, i'm just so sorry i'm not there, but now I have all the reason to come back home.Special thanks to Rebecca and all the wonderful supporters, keep up the wonderful work you all are doing.God bless and keep you all.
