Dear Mr MP,
Congratulations on your victory. You have been given an exalted position by the people you serve. Your position not withstanding, remember that you serve the people, at the will of the people.
There is no honeymoon. The people are suffering and cannot feast on speeches. We need deeds like the building of proper roads, jobs, healthcare, lessening of the crime rate, and opportunities for the youth.
To whom much is given, much is expected. You represent a proud group of people in Treasure Beach. Many of us are politically independent, and we take our vote seriously; do not take us for granted.
I wish you all the best as you embark on the task at hand. Keep the people near you, with your ears close to the ground. Always remember: this is about the people, not about you.
i thought TB.net does not putup pollitical speaches ?!
We don't. If you are referring to the above message there is nothing in there touting either political party. It is a message to our new Minister of Parliament.
True Word Independent
It is not about you it’s about the people who get you there - much is expected of our new Member of Parliament. Make it happen for the people of our area.
Who is the new MP?
Independent - it may have been more appropriate to address him/her by name would it not?
Independent why don't you send it to the new MP?
I say no, Uncle Peter. Independent addressed it to whomever is holding the position, not to a particular person. As S/he said, its not about the person, its about the country (and by extension the position of MP).
I thought that was an excellent piece by 'independent". [edited by TB.Net]
