If you have a baby that is fussing and crying most times and gripe water or gas relief drops in not working the baby might have acid reflux,I was surprised that my baby has acid reflux. I when on line and learn all about it,I find out that liquid
zantac for baby work for us. Please talk to your baby doctor about this.
It also helps to keep the baby sitting up (like in a car seat) after feeding,
I was surprised to learn that very a young baby( Weeks old ) could have acid reflux.
It's in the food we are feeding them. Get back to nature.
Our grandson was troubled with this until he was a year old. Had an excellent pediatrician. Poor kid had a lot of trouble with pain and spitting up, so the medicine was necessary to help him keep the food down. I will try to get the name of the medicine he was on and get that info to you. May take a day or so, but i'll report back. You have to be very careful about what you give babies. Best to see a good pediatrician.
OK, got the info about the med my grandson was on. Here is what my daughter-in-law said about it, and the acid reflux her baby had (hopes this helps):
It is Prevacid, an over the counter medicine but for infants/young children you need a prescription to get the proper dosage.
Let your friend know it doesn't cure the problem (and isn't supposed to). It just makes them a little more comfortable and helps with the irritation to the throat. ...my baby still had reflux and lots of spit up his whole first year. I think he had a bad case though because I've heard of some people whose kids respond better to the medicine than he did and who start doing better when solids are introduced. Those things didn't help him much; he just had to outgrow it. I noticed a decrease in spit up around age 11 to 12months and by 13 months he seemed better.
