Koriann South, Mini Miss Jamaica 2010 - 2011 gave her last presentation today as reigning Mini Miss Jamaica at the Treasure Beach Pentecostal Church. At this presentation she gave $30,000 to the Pedro Plains Primary School, a computer, printer and computer supplies to the Sandy Bank Early Childhood Institute (Sandy Bank Basic School), and $100,000 to the Sandy Bank Primary School.

These were the final donations in a year filled with Mini Miss Jamaica donating over $1 million JA in cash and supplies to many schools and health institutes in the South St. Elizabeth area.

She will pass on her crown on Boxing Day to the next young lady to be given the honor of being crowned Mini Miss Jamaica. We can all be very very proud of Koriann South. Her hard work, diligence and efforts to raise these funds and help so many should be recognized and appreciated.

We also must recognize her parents Janet Kaloo and Kory South as without their support Koriann would not have achieved near as much.

The program today was chaired by Ms. V. Parchment. Ms. Montague led us in prayer. Ms. Alvaranga gave a lovely and spirited welcome to the audience. Then the Pedro Plains Primary School had a group of children singing and dancing to "I Want To Wish You a Merry Christmas" which entertained us all. Greetings were given by Mr. Hugo Buchanan - P.N.P. Candidate, S.W. St. Elizabeth and Mr. George Deleon - Chairman - Sandy Bank Primary School.

A lovely young lady from the Sandy Bank Early Childhood Institute sang a sweet song, and then Ms. Koriann South gave a speech of encouragement to the youth in the audience.

The presentations were made by Ms. South presenting the $30,000 to Mr. Wilton Smith of the Pedro Plains Primary School, the computer, printer and supplies to a representative from the Sandy Bank Early Childhood Institute, and the $100,000 check to Ms. Zane Ebanks of the Sandy Bank Primary School. Each representative told of their thanks to Mini Miss Jamaica.

Ms. Ebanks further stated this money was the first donation they have received towards the building of an auditorium for the Sandy Bank Primary School. This was wonderful news and we look forward to hearing more about the plans of this auditorium.

Some students from the Sandy Bank Primary School sang a song they wrote especially for the occasion and Ms. Gayle gave the Vote of Thanks. The afternoon festivities concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.

What a great way to see the conclusion of the reign of Mini Miss Jamaica. We, in Treasure Beach, are so proud of Koriann South and we wish for her continued success in all she sets out to achieve in the future.
