Is there duty on older computers now? If you ship it? If you carry it in?

We would like to give our working older desk top to family in Jamaica.

But if the shipping and duty is $200 or greater we may as well buy them a a netbook for $230.

you hit the nail on the head. leave the antique that you call a computer and buy a used or refurbished laptop - affordable and good as new.
