I would like to go shoppng for things for a picnic unless food will be available for sale. Can I bring my own Red Stripes.

I'm a defender of the sports complex but i'm beginning to see why many are feeling sour about BREDS' attitude to comments and inquiries on this site. Why use the forum to make announcements but then ignore questions from the very same people you just made the announcement to?

I am also a defender of the spots park and want to attend the game Saturday afternoon. This is why I asked my question. I am NOT a defender of the attitude on the part of those running the sports park and I am finding it plain rude. If you hold an event and people have questions, please answer ASAP.

I don't know what "as usual" means because this is the first time we've been in Treasure Beach. Could someone please explain to a newcomer? Also I would like to know if there is admission charged, seats provided and bathroom facilities. About how long will the game last?

To Know It All, could you tell us the menu and prices please like they do when there is an event at Sunset and Kory posts the menu and prices. If I want to bring my own food and drink is that permitted? Also since I have not yet been to an event at the sports park, will things be sold by a variety of vendors or are things only sold by Breds?

Wait a minute; are you people going to a football match or to a barbecue?

know it ALL, what type of food the sports Park USUALLY serve, hope is not the SAME you find in the restaurants like Jack Sprat, or Jakes hope is light FOOD, finger food.

Whenever I've been to a football match in Jamaica there is typically fried chicken and a jerk pan serving either jerk chicken and/or jerk pork. Soft drinks and beer are also usually for sale.

I've not seen the ellaborate tail-gate parties like you would see in the States.

I am certain betting is not allowed on this site. But if it was I would place a wager that BREDS would not respond in time for people to make plans about food and drink for today's game. I am increasingly puzzled about their refusal to respond to simple and noncontroversial questions. They say to come out to the sports park and then will not provide enough details about an event even when asked.

Not responding is a PR tactic not to get involved in 'Kas Kas' thus wasting time and energy.

Turey, are you suggesting that not answering simple questions is proper for a community organization? The questions were about food and drink and appeared to be asked with no malice.

Suggestion to TreasureBeach.net: Let BREDS do their own announcing here. If I can figure out how to do it they can too.

If I was visiting now, I'd go to the game.

I have gotten disenchanted with BREDS because of what looks to be their lack of manners. We get reminded that they do not have to answer questions on this site and that is correct. I wonder why they find this site valuable for putting up their announcements but they don't appear to then find the readers valuable enough to answer their questions. I also wonder why they did not take the time to say who won the match on Saturday. Disappointing.

Who won? What was the score? I would truly appreciate more details if anyone reading this attended the game.

Maybe, just maybe, BREDS does not answer on this site because they know, no matter what they say, there will be people wanting to entice them into a debate. A debate about anything. Then, sooner or later to preserve their character, they will need to ignore postings. And then, they will be back to not responding. Maybe if this site attracted less people trying to debate if someone says the earth is round, such entities as BREDS may be more inclined to contribute. Seems to me maybe it is them that is acting appropriate given the situation and the history of the silly debates that happen here.

Maybe, just maybe, BREDS didn't bother to answer some simple requests about food and drink, something that would be difficult to debate. All they had to do is to say what would be sold at the park and tell people if it was acceptable to bring any of their own food and drink onto the premises. BREDS didn't bother to answer such questions as if there was seating, if there were bathroom facilities and about how long the game might last. What debate could come from answering these simple questions? They did not even bother to tell the final score. Would people debate the score and say it was different?

BREDS has been chastised in other strings but I see their refusal to respond to direct and simple questions yet another illustration of them using the forum to promote their activities and not having the common courtesy to respond to questions about exactly what they announced.

What if Treasure Beach Foundation said there was a villa raffle but refused to give full information or to answer questions? Do you think they would have sold many tickets if they took the same kind of attitude BREDS does?

Just so everyone knows, it is total coinncidence that "not open to debate" and I posted on the same opinion at around the same time. No, we are not one in the same and I have no idea who this is...

mnken..how did you come up with that idea? The only time this site is interesting is when there are controversies..right now it is as dull and dreary as the surface of the moon! I would take silly debates every time over silly comments!

I did not defend BREDS, simply stating why they may not respond. I do believe though that they are smart enough to biuld this facility with the foresight that there would need to be toilets...geez...End of this posting for me! Seeya!

Golly, mnkn, a first time visitor in Treasure Beach asked about bathroom facilities and related. Are you suggesting that everyone who comes to Treasure Beach knows who BREDS is much less if there are bathroom facilities at the sports park. A lot of ladies I know are not keen on the drive from MoBay to TB especially because of the lack of bathroom facilities especially ones that are clean and have toilet tissue. I would not read anything into people asking logical and innocent questions and assume people are looking to debate anything. They just wanted some answers.

Further, if they have no intention of responding because they might have to defend their character, then why USE this site as a place to put their announcements? Could this be a case of them wanting to have the best of both worlds: USE (meaning take advantage of) this site to post their announcements and then refuse to answer honest questions from the VERY SAME PEOPLE they wanted to read their announcements.

Would you post a real estate announcement here and then refuse to answer direct questions that aren't slightly confidential? From what I know about you, you wouldn't do that because you are a PROFESSIONAL.

Dude (or dudette) I was merely stating they may just want to announce something and just leave it at that. I am not defending BREDS! Never have, and I doubt I ever will! Yes, you are correct that I would answer any question, because I would be working for a client, and I do what is in their best interest. But you will notice, BREDS posted nothing here. They just asked tbnet to pass along the announcement.

Perhaps this was what we call fantasy football and there was never a game played.

NO NO NO!!! Please do not interpret my stance. All I wanted to do is TRY, and I say TRY to put myself in the shoes of BREDS, and why they may not choose to respond. and my response is the only logical explanation I can think of for why they will not. Is their approach good business? In my opinion, no it is not. So maybe they do not see what they are doing as a business, or being a good steward, I don't know. You will have to ask them, and the result will be...no response, probably! So, with that said, I would choose to communicate, as I enjoy that. But they do not for some reason. By the way, Sportsman, you are not related to SD are you?

I'm not sure who SD is mnken, but since my family goes back many generations in Treasure Beach I dare say we could be related. I often read your posts, and appreciate the fact that folk like yourself have taken such a liking to our little corner of the world. Perhaps someday I'll get to meet you, or turey, or littlemamalisa, or some of the other cool cats on this site.

This has turned into another back and forth over Breds and why they appear to not take the time to respond to easy questions here. I for one don't bother to ask them anything because I realize I will become frustrated when I don't see a response. I am asking ANYONE ELSE to please tell me the score of that game. Please.

How local sporting clubs do in matches, the scores, highlights, big ups, etc are the kind of thing that makes this site so valuable not only to locals away but us visitors as well. We get to hear (and see, if there are pix) people, places, and events that make us feel part of the action. I recall much more information about the girls and boys cricket, the men's football, various running events and the like than we seem to get now. I join those who regret negativity and wish for more news and communication. If there's a sports schedule for the park in February, please let me know or post it. Thanks.
