I've never seen snow in October in all my life in Connecticut/New England. Thousands without electricity, someone called it SNOWTOBER. We got about 12 inches of it. The leaves did not get a chance to change to autumn colours. Not even sure if the birds migrated yet. This is when I really can't wait to come to Jamaica. I will be there in December. Hundreds of cancellations today including church services. I miss church today. Things and time are really changing. I just wanted to share this information. God bless.

Friends of mine in NJ and Westchester are still without power since 7:30am Saturday. But there is no place like New York.

I got these photos from my cousins living just outside of Worcester, Massachusetts. They had about 15 inches of snow and loads of tree damage. My brother, also near Worcester lost power on Friday evening and just got it back Tuesday morning. He said there are many others in the area who still don't have power and lots of roads still closed due to downed trees.

Those are great photos. Thank you for showing them. On the news it said there were more power outages from this snow storm than there were from Hurricane Katrina. I think it is going to be a bad winter up here and I pray I can afford to come down there for a week or maybe even two.

Just heard from my cousins and they finally got electricity back this morning. They lost it on Friday evening.

No one expected the enormity of this snow storm and the damage it would have caused, CT was hard hit again worst than Irene in August, everywhere you look is down trees and electric wires dangling. Our doors are open to help families and friends who have lost power. People are generous and those affected are grateful to just come in and charge their phones, or get hot meals and a warm place to sleep even if it means sleeping on the couch. I heard that a young lady in the Hartford area lost her life due to generator accident, and she is also from the Treasure beach area. May God comfort the family of that young lady. Keep up the good work Rebecca.

I lived in Massachusetts (mostly the Boston area and south of Boston) for 43 years. I never recall losing current, not even during the blizzard of 78.

Wow, I have vivid memories of the blizzard of 78 in Massachusetts! We were without electricity for at least 5 days. My parents had a wood stove in the basement and everyone was coming over to get warm and to cook food on the wood stove. It was two backhoes that "plowed" out our road as the drifts were so high a regular plow could not manage the work. We had 52 inches of snow. I was a teenager at the time and remember it as being a great adventure. I'm sure my parents remember it quite differently.

Some areas of CT are still without power.
